4 years ago I had double eyelid surgery because of ptosis I didn’t know much about double eyelid surgery, and when I was told that ptosis surgery and double eyelid surgery were eye surgeries, I had the ptosis surgery at a university hospital ophthalmology department At first I thought it turned out very naturally and well I asked for a thicker fold, but the doctor made it thin however he wanted The swelling went down quickly and it seemed fine But I heard that a double eyelid only truly becomes your own after 3 years, and sure enough, one side came undone and it seemed like the ptosis wasn’t properly corrected either So I decided to have revision surgery The problem when I had the ptosis surgery was that my eyelashes kept poking my eyes, and it started happening again Also the inner corner of my eye was too sharp, so I thought that needed improvement too I looked around using apps like ㅂㅂㅌ and ㄱㄴㅇㄴ and narrowed it down to two places Neither was a famous hospital, but it seemed the reviews were good So I went to the first one, and they said the director would do the consultation personally, but they put me in a room and even after 20 minutes, 30 minutes, no one came I asked in the middle when they would come, and they just kept repeating that if I stayed sitting there, they would come, without even getting up from their seat I felt like this probably wasn’t the right place and left saying I wouldn’t do it there Then I went to the second hospital, and the consultation manager was extremely kind, and the director clearly explained why there was a problem and how the surgery would be done I thought shaping the inner corner of the eye just meant making it look that way, but it turned out that wasn’t all, and the band on the front had to be cut to release it, which I learned was basically front canthoplasty So I went ahead with both: revision surgery + front canthoplasty I got a discount in exchange for sending review photos for 6 months The surgery process itself was actually pretty ordinary. At the university hospital, I went into one of many operating rooms, and at this hospital I went into the only operating room? At the university hospital, for just me and my one double-eyelid surgery, there was one doctor and maybe four or five nurses? But here, since the director was the only doctor, I think it was the director, one nurse, and one medical trainee? Something like that Actually, the pain after surgery was a lot worse with the revision, but it wasn’t unbearable or anything, it was okay At first, because of the swelling, it seemed like my eyelids wouldn’t close fully, but once all the swelling went down, it became just right Looking back now after a year, I think it was actually the surgery of my life I never thought I’d ever hear someone say my eyes are big and round like that, but now I hear it often, and I had the surgery while I was dating my boyfriend, so after the surgery he was thrilled that I looked prettier Maybe because of that, the power balance completely shifted to me, and it feels like I’m living a second life ㅋㅋㅋㅋ You might think I’m overreacting over something as small as double eyelid surgery, but well, it’s all about how I see it ㅋㅋ Right now I’ve booked a consultation to get fillers for my hollow cheeks and lipsㅎㅎㅎ
