I was looking into LASIK/LASEK surgery in my late 20s and heard there was something called SMILE LASIK, so I looked it up and had the surgery at a place with a director who was well known for that procedure. Before surgery, they did the basic tests, checked whether surgery was possible based on retinal thickness, and in my case, I also had Xtra compensation on both sides, so I paid an additional fee. There was an extra 300,000 won or so to have it done by the director, but since it was eye surgery, I wanted to do it more safely, so I had the director do it. I think the surgery took about 15 minutes? My eyes hurt a little that evening, but I liked that I could return to normal daily life right away starting the next morning. However, when discussing the surgery with a doctor beforehand, maybe because the director was busy with surgeries, I discussed the surgery with another doctor, and even during the post-op hospital checkup and doctor consultation, it seemed difficult to consult with the doctor who performed the surgery. My vision is still maintained at 1.0, and there is a little glare, but it is not severe.
