At first, I wore elastics and had something called a palatal arch expansion device placed on the roof of my mouth, with 4 screws implanted to keep the appliance in place. I had to turn the device every day, and my head really hurt so much. But after doing this, my mouth got a little wider. I had it for about 6 months and then had it removed, but I still have round scar-like marks? left on the roof of my mouth.
