I'm having revision surgery for a saddle nose.. I'm in a very sensitive state because step-offs or uneven contours stress me out so much I was recommended revision surgery without an implant, and they said doing it without any step-off is the skill, and that they'd do it well. But I don't want to leave even a 0.0001% chance of any unevenness I should be able to discuss with the director about going with a thin layer of silicone, right?? It's not that I don't trust the director, but I'm sensitive because I had open surgery three times because of the director at the previous hospital, where I still don't know what caused the unevenness I'm still going around for consultations I'm planning to have another consultation at this place too, but I'm a little worried they might feel offended or oppose it haha
봄봄189 Then I really don't recommend no implant. Matching that step-off is hard too, and donated dermis? They have to use something like that to match it, but I understand dermis also gets absorbed to some extent I don't know the details either, but my friend did that for her first surgery and put in silicone for her second surgery...
까미누나 [@봄봄189] Right, right.. I also don't feel comfortable with either autologous dermis or donated dermis.. There are also cases where a step-off appeared 5 years after no-implant surgery... Since this is my 5th surgery, if I get another side effect, I think it would be so painful I don't have an aversion to silicone.. I just want to do it with silicone and autologous costal cartilage, without being greedy about the shape..
