Summary for those in a hurry. Surgery history: Over 10 years ago, hump shaving + 5 mm silicone + septal support strut + AlloDerm. I think the AlloDerm has all been absorbed. Removal clinic and cost: Click my nickname, search by ID, and see the first post. What I want to say: 4 months after closed removal, I can make a piggy nose. If you have not had nose surgery yet and you are sensitive, feel your time and money are precious, have never won the lottery, and don’t want to spend years living like a shut-in, absolutely do not get nose surgery. Use that money to buy cosmetics and study makeup instead.
TMI Hello~~ I’m someone who came into this community every day for several months, searching, writing posts, and lurking. It’s already been 4 months since removal. I think those were truly the darkest days of my lifeㅠㅠ Before removal, I couldn’t even eat, stayed up all night worrying... I would just look in the mirror every day and cry.
I couldn’t get the removal done at the clinic where I had my surgery~ I think most people here are looking for removal clinics because things could not be resolved smoothly with the clinic where they had surgery in the past. I also had my first surgery without thinking enough, so I went through a lot emotionally~ That’s why it was hard for me to just pass by the posts from people sharing their worries here ㅠㅠ This community... I kept coming back as if I was addicted. Even when my condition was good, if I read posts from people saying they had problems, I hated seeing myself start worrying all over again from that momentㅠㅠ So with this post as my last one, I’m going to return to daily life now.
Actually, every time I read posts asking whether a septal support strut could really be removed properly through a closed approach, I also somehow got worried for no reason ㅋㅋ But fortunately, I think my removal went well. Now I can make a piggy nose, and it moves well up, down, left, and right. It has become much softer now~~ It is still a tiny bit firm, but I think it will gradually loosen up~~
Also, there were more people than I expected who were worried about pain. Before removal, I had severe headaches and a tight sensation, but after removal, my nose felt lighter and the headaches disappeared~ But when the contraction phase came, it started hurting again, and pain similar to before removal kept recurring~ I worried a lot about whether the removal had really been done properly, but I decided to trust it and wait. The human body is really fascinating: once an area has become weakened, when your condition gets bad, pain often comes to that area. I had experienced that a few times before too, so I just lived thinking that must be what it was, but I wrote this because it seems many people worry severely about that ㅠㅠ If you worry too much, I think it is not good for nose recovery either, so if the clinic says there is no problem, I think it is best to try to stay as relaxed as possible~~ And if you remove it, of course it hurts a lot~~ It can also become red. Don’t be too impatient, and if you wait a little, it will all resolve~~!!
If you are considering removal, searching a lot here and looking for many older reviews will probably help a lot~ Whenever I felt anxious, I searched to see if there were cases similar to mine. When you feel that everyone else is going through the same thing, the anxiety goes away~~
And they say that if the contraction phase comes and the nose turns upward, it all gets better with time~~ I didn’t have any shape changes during the contraction phase, though ㅠㅠ But don’t worry too much if it turns upward during the contraction phase, and make sure to eat lots of good food!!
Honestly, when your nose becomes strange, you get really sensitive ㅠㅠ I know very well because I’ve been through it too... Still, there will be a way for everyone. Things will go well. Please don’t worry too muchㅠㅠ Thank you for reading this long post. I’ll be cheering for you and really hope you get good results!!
