Hello I had an early removal at the hospital where I had surgery in week 2, and the hospital kept saying until the end that my nose shape would become strange, suggesting we leave even a short support strut or leave certain parts as they were. They also said that for cartilage repositioning, they would only return things to their basic original position.
Something felt uneasy... After surgery, the angle of the nasal tip stayed high as before, and it looked like only part of the ear cartilage that had been attached to the nasal tip had been removed. Far from spreading out at all, it actually looked even more upturned and more pinched, so I’ve been living with anxiety. In a situation where no hospital would accept someone in my condition, exactly one place said it was possible, so I’m going to have surgery tomorrow morning... After my failed plastic surgery, I developed mental health problems, and even when I try to steady myself and think maybe I’m obsessing over it, when I see how severely changed I look in the mirror, I even feel suicidal urges.
Since this will be a total of three surgeries within one month, the risks are high and I’ll probably have more scarring too... The director said the pinched appearance can be improved sufficiently, and if not all of the grafted cartilage was removed, they will open it up, check all of that as well, remove it, and then correct the parts that can be corrected as much as possible, so I’m planning to get on the operating table one last time...
If this goes wrong again, I really might give up on life. No one knows whether this is truly the right choice right now, but I’ve seen people who could not recover from a pinched appearance the longer they left it, so I’m trying to at least resolve this within a month...
I desperately hope that this time the surgical result is good and that the hospital is the right fit for me...
And to everyone considering removal, I hope you choose your hospital carefully. I do not recommend getting removal at the hospital where you had the surgery, especially if the doctor does not confidently say they can do it, but instead says the shape is unpredictable, it will be ruined, and it cannot be done... You can take that to mean they have no confidence because they have no experience removing manipulated autologous cartilage, and that they also do not have the skill to shape it afterward... They called it an abnormal surgery to me. There are so many hospitals specializing in removal and so many people living well after removal...
If I have surgery tomorrow, I’ll be able to know for sure whether the first hospital lied and whether they removed everything or not...
It may be a gamble, but because I cannot live a normal daily life with this pinched, awkward clothespin-like nose, I’m scheduled for surgery tomorrow at a hospital that says they can improve it.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to leave a review right away tomorrow, but I sincerely hope I can come back with a positive review that gives strength to people who are considering removal after surgery ㅠㅠ
