Hello, I had rhinoplasty at that hospital early last year! Ha,, just thinking about that time still makes me tremble The reason is that during the surgery, the sleep anesthesia did not work = I underwent the surgery without falling asleep, while I was awake. They did give me an anesthetic injection, but even as they were administering it, the area where the anesthetic was going in felt stiff and painful. It was my first time getting it, so I thought, is this how it normally is,,, and just closed my eyes, wondering when I would fall asleep.
Then suddenly, weren’t they giving me a series of injections in my face (nose)......? Ha,, because I had not fallen asleep, I vividly received almost 10 anesthetic injections being jabbed into my face while fully awake.. My whole body was trembling and tears came out because it was so scary and painful I don’t think I will ever again experience that kind of pain and extreme fear in my life..
When I commonly saw reviews asking, “Does rhinoplasty hurt?”, they said it is over when you wake up and there is no pain at all, but I really felt like I barely made it out alive. Throughout the entire surgery, I still remember every single sound of the surgery and the chatting between the nurses and the director. (Well,, at least there was the reassurance that there was no proxy surgery by the director....^^) I wondered, is everyone originally operated on while awake like this? and just stayed awake throughout the surgery. Trembling silently and crying. When the surgery ended, they told me to get up carefully, but I was completely fine, you know? Like I had just sat down and stood up. During the few minutes of resting after the surgery, I noticed that my arm felt strange, and when I checked, it was swollen so tightly and painful to the point that I could not tell if it was an arm or a leg. That was when I clearly realized that the anesthetic had not been administered properly. The hospital did not give much of an explanation, just wrapped it with a bandage and sent me home. I was going to take a taxi, but I was so completely fine that I ended up going home by public transportation.
No matter how much I thought about it, I could not understand how there was not even one explanation, so on the day I had the splint removed, I asked the hospital again, and what they said was something like this. Ah, there are originally people for whom anesthetic does not work well. So we administered a little more in the middle. That was all they said, and there was absolutely no explanation for why my arm swelled or why I did not fall asleep... But in my opinion, I think they made a mistake with administering the anesthetic itself. It was not properly placed in the blood vessel, but the anesthetic went into the wrong place, so the anesthesia did not work and my arm swelled....
Even looking at reviews from 10 out of 10 people, they say rhinoplasty does not hurt. It is over when you wake up. It is nothing major. But I really went through a hell that I never want to experience again, and probably never could experience again.^^ Thanks to that, after the rhinoplasty was over, I did not think it was hard at all. The difficulty at that time could not compare to the pain during the surgery...
Now, one year later, I am doing well without side effects, but the hospital’s response back then felt so questionable that I am leaving this review..scurrying off.. I hope no one has this kind of experience,,,
