First, I was most drawn to one clinic, but I think it was the hardest to get an appointment there. Maybe because it is a single-doctor clinic, they said the earliest appointment was 3 weeks later, but that actually made me more determined, so I thought I definitely had to go. But after going there and receiving the consultation, I understood why I had to wait 3 weeks. It felt different from the consultations I had at other places. At other hospitals, if I said I wanted my face to become as small as possible, they would say something like, “Yes, understood~.” But the director there said that a face does not have to be unconditionally small to be pretty, and that the size should be reduced and the design planned while considering the proportions of my existing facial features. They changed the misconceptions I had about facial contouring surgery in a way that made sense to me. What attracted me the most was that it felt like they designed it custom for me, and they told me to bring photos I wanted on the day of surgery. I liked that this did not feel like just something they say, but that they genuinely intended to tailor it to me. First, when I said I disliked my peanut-shaped face, I received an estimate for cheekbones + square jaw + chin tip. I did not know this, but they said that when looking at the bone, I do not have a recessed chin, but because my mouth protrudes slightly, it is a relative recessed chin. So I was recommended 3 facial contouring procedures + chin advancement surgery. Also, I had undergone general anesthesia before for another surgery in the past, and my throat hurt then and it was really difficult. But here, I could choose the anesthesia, and since my nerve line is not particularly high and my asymmetry also needed to be corrected, for the square jaw, I was recommended endoscopic square-jaw surgery through an incision behind the ear rather than an intraoral incision. They said anesthesia was selectable, so I said I would do it under sedation anesthesia. I also have a lot of facial fat, so they recommended liposuction together, but they said it would be fine whether I did it together or later. So I decided to make that decision on the day of surgery, but thinking about it, I felt it would be better to swell all at once when doing facial contouring, so I said I would do it together.
