For my first surgery 15 years ago, they used donated costal cartilage and silicone, and the silicone broke through my nose and came out. After removing it, I developed contracture. After that, without putting silicone back in, the hospital where I had my first surgery restored only the contracted area using autologous fat, stem cells, and so on. After that, I gathered my courage again and had ear cartilage and silicone placed 3 years ago. There are no complications, but I don’t like the nasal tip, so I’m considering a third revision surgery. The hospital where I’m planning to have surgery said that I currently have both donated costal cartilage and silicone in place, and since there are no complications, it should be fine, and they recommended donated costal cartilage, silicone, and ear cartilage again. It’s a hospital that’s popular these days for nose surgery, and they’re very good at correcting the nasal tip, columella, and mouth line, so I want to do it there. But is donated costal cartilage okay for a third revision?
