Eye Surgery Considerations

Newness Community Review

I went for a consultation about nose surgery today, but I wondered whether the consultation felt somewhat unnatural. When I entered, they saw my address and said, “You came from Seoul,” then suddenly brought up a subway map on the screen and spent 10 minutes talking only about public transportation, saying that coming by this route would be better than taking the subway. The route they recommended actually looked more troublesome to me, but they seemed very intent on pushing their own opinion, so I was left thinking, “Huh?” During the consultation, as expected, they gave me no chance to ask questions and spent 30 minutes rapidly explaining YouTube content and surgical methods. Whenever I tried to ask something, they did not listen and just kept talking. They also showed me photos and videos of nose surgery, but they were so graphic and unpleasant that I wished they had warned me beforehand. I did not want to see more and said I could not watch, but they insisted, saying, “No, you have to see it! You need to know how the surgery is performed,” which also made me uncomfortable. From 15 minutes before the consultation ended, the coordinator kept waiting by the door and pressuring me, which was uncomfortable. Later, they said the next customer was waiting, suddenly said the explanation was over, and the consultation ended with me getting up awkwardly. The consultation itself was extremely detailed and they showed photos, but it felt strongly like a lecture. At the end, I stood up and said, “I still have a few questions..!” But when they responded, “I explained everything you need to know, so what are you still curious about?” and did not even seem willing to listen to my questions, my trust dropped sharply.
