I decided to get surgery because I was worried about my low nose. But I was so scared of rhinoplasty side effects that I did a lot of online research. Before even going to in-person consultations, I canceled appointments 6 times.. haha I wanted a natural yet defined straight-to-slightly-curved bridge line, so I wrote down lists of clinics known for doing that style from several Naver cafes, then narrowed them down based on my own criteria. Through a community, I checked things like whether it was not a large hospital but a private clinic or a place with 2-3 doctors or fewer, whether they had CCTV and whether they actually showed the CCTV well (some places tell you to pay if you want to see it;), whether the consultant’s attitude was kind and there were no extra recommendations, whether the consultation time with the director was sufficient, whether there were not too many ads or brokers, whether the director had not moved clinics too often, and so on. I narrowed it down to clinics that met almost all my standards and went to 3 in-person consultations. Honestly, before going, this clinic was 3rd in my mind out of the three, but after the consultations, that completely changed. I had heard in reviews that the director’s consultation was long, but it really felt like over 30 minutes. I had a lot of worries and asked all kinds of questions, and he kind of scolded? me, saying he was going to make me a top-grade nose so why was I asking those questions, and he talked a lot in such a confident tone that I actually thought midway through that I wanted to leave quickly lol. That’s how long and thorough the consultation was. He also explained that because my nose is small, there are limits to how much it can be raised, and even if he raised it to the maximum, it would still come out natural yet defined. He explained the condition of my nose too. At other clinics, the directors just said things like, “We can do it like this and this~,” but here he explained things really in detail. Also, this is just my personal thought, but because the director is young, I feel like he has a trendier sense too. The reason I decided to have surgery at this clinic was first because my trust grew through the director’s long and detailed consultation, and I felt that the aesthetic I wanted matched well with the director’s aesthetic. The other two places I visited, after consulting with them, seemed like they would give me results quite different from the pretty review photos I had seen, and the consultations with the directors ended in under 10 minutes, so I didn’t feel like I could trust them with my nose. So anyway, in the end, I had surgery at this clinic. I used 3.5 mm silicone, donated costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage, and when I got the quote, I felt it was neither too much nor too little, just a reasonable price. After the surgery, that thought became even clearer. Maybe because it’s a private clinic, but I felt like the director was truly sincere toward each patient. Before surgery, I had one more design consultation with the director, and after surgery I went for 3 follow-up care visits. Every time I went, I could see the director and ask him anything I was curious about. He also checked my progress. Oh, and when I had the stitches removed, it didn’t hurt at all, and I heard that this is directly related to the director’s skill? They say if the doctor is good at suturing at the end, it doesn’t hurt much when the stitches are removed! Ah right, the consultant didn’t push anything at all, and the other staff were so kind too.. Every time I went, they asked if I was okay and whether it hurt, and everyone had such a human touch. As for the nose shape, I got exactly the natural yet defined straight-to-slightly-curved line I wanted. My friend went to an arts high school, so she has seen a truckload of friends who had nose surgery, and she said mine turned out the best out of everyone she has seen. Not only that friend, but all my friends keep saying my nose turned out really well, and one friend even said she is going to get hers done at the same clinic I went to lol. Family and friends alike are all amazed. It’s not a sharp Pinocchio-like nose like a “Gangnam beauty” style, but exactly the classic natural yet defined kind of nose. I’m so, so satisfied, and Director Lee Byung-jun is truly like the father of my nose. Everyone says things like revision is essential for noses, but I chose my first clinic so well that I think I’ll live my whole life with this nose without revision surgery lol. I’m now 3 months post-op, and it has almost settled well. The scars have almost disappeared, and a lot of sensation has come back. The size and shape of my nostrils are perfectly symmetrical^^ Oh right, and I also had functional rhinoplasty at the same time, and the effect is seriously insane. Originally, every winter, my nose would get blocked every night when I slept, and nosebleeds in the morning were part of my daily life, but since the nose surgery, that has never happened once. Not having a blocked nose is seriously a whole new world…. Since this post got so long, it became hard to follow, but anyway yes, my rhinoplasty was a success haha Oh, and the before-and-after difference is partly my nose, but I also lost more than 10 kg, and I think losing weight makes me look prettier too haha
