I got so many messages about my pre-nose-surgery review from 16 clinics.. and so much interest, so I’m rushing to write the surgery review It’s long again, so I’ll use the -om style..
I have a broad face, my front area is deeply sunken, and one of my double-eyelid surgeries failed so the line looked strange Around the time I was wandering between many plastic surgery clinics, wondering whether to do double eyelid surgery or facial contouring, there was one facial contouring clinic I really, really liked, but it was so expensive that I couldn’t even think about it I was torn between shaving the lateral cheekbones, bringing in the frontal cheekbones, or shaving the jaw, and I couldn’t decide among the three. When I asked, “If you had to recommend just one thing, what would you recommend?” the doctor said, “If you’re only going to do one thing, I’d recommend the nose. It’s a very cost-effective surgery, I guess? In this current image, the one thing that will definitely show the effect of spending money for the change is the nose.” So.. I visited 16 nose-specialist clinics T_T
I’m a scaredy-cat, so safety first. Actually, I thought since I was getting plastic surgery anyway, it would be okay if it showed a little, but if they raise it aggressively and make it look like BOOM, a nose like that, I also worried it might collapse later. And because if they raise it aggressively they recommend extra materials like costal cartilage or donor rib mesh, I also felt uneasy even about the basic silicone + ear cartilage or septal cartilage, and I didn’t want to put in materials like that. Since it was even my first surgery, I felt that even more strongly. So when I prioritized safety, I eventually chose a clinic that specializes in natural-looking noses..
As I wrote in the pre-surgery review, I don’t really like long consultations with the manager about the nose, and I avoid clinics where the doctor doesn’t show surgery-related photos. Looking at the patient’s nose during consultation, the doctor already has an image of what it will look like after surgery in their head, so I didn’t think it made sense for the manager to show nose photos and go on about this and that. And I also avoid places where the doctor’s consultation time is shorter than the manager’s. It’s good if they can pack a lot into a short time, but most of the time that’s not the case. I wanted my nose consultation to be entirely with the doctor, and only talk with the manager about the cost or the surgery date, and this was a clinic that matched that perfectly.
Before the consultation, the manager said that if there were any questions, I had to communicate them all with the doctor, because the surgery would be done by the doctor, so everything needed to be discussed with the doctor. There was no unnecessary talk about anything else, and I really liked that. The doctor’s image was precise, quick, delicate, and clean. A very streamlined feeling.
People who have worked before probably know this feeling well, but just because a person seems kind or warm doesn’t mean they’re good at their job..
At other clinics, I asked whether they could show me the height in the middle of surgery to check if I liked it, and they said there was absolutely no way during surgery, because the surgical area would be contaminated. But here, they said they would sew everything up first before taping, and then show the line once. I really, really liked that. It gave the impression they would do the surgery cleanly. Actually, if the surgery itself isn’t done cleanly, the surgical area gets contaminated and you can get inflammation, fever, redness.. and the thought of reopening my nose again not long after surgery was awful
And since my front area was deeply sunken, I had also consulted about doing fat grafting together, but they said it didn’t seem necessary to do it together right now and counseled me according to my current image.
Most clinics say things like, “If you do fat grafting together with the nose, it looks so much prettier~~” and they often recommend it as a bundle, and even when they don’t bring it up first, if you ask, they just say, “It’s definitely much better~~” Only irresponsible answers like “it’s better if you do it regardless of your current image” were being repeated like parrots, so not aggressively pushing extra procedures itself was touching..
I had almost no bridge between my eyebrows, so my top priority for nose surgery was the bridge between the eyebrows, and my second priority was improving the bluntness of the tip. I really wanted that bridge between the eyebrows We decided on silicone bridge + septal cartilage tip + hump correction, and they said they would use ear cartilage additionally if needed.
I had the consultation on Saturday, worried a lot over the weekend, made up my mind, and booked surgery for Monday.
I decided not to do fat grafting and came without hearing the price, but since I thought I might as well do it together with the nose, I decided to at least be mentally prepared to do it, and said I would discuss the fat grafting once more with the doctor on the surgery day before deciding, then booked it.
On the day of surgery, I had to fast for 4 hours including water. (So I ate 5 hours beforehand.. maybe that’s why I gain weight.) On surgery day, before going into surgery, I consulted with the doctor once more and set the surgical direction, and before entering the operating room, they marked the silicone placement on my face and the fat grafting area with a marker.
Even with the slightest touch to my face I was tense, but before doing anything, the doctor would say, “Just going to mark it for a moment~ It won’t hurt~” and relax me, and kept telling me what they were doing. Before surgery, I expressed my obsession with the bridge between my eyebrows once again..
Then I went into the operating room. The surgery was at 10 a.m. The fat grafting took 1 hour, and the nose surgery took more than 2 hours, so it took about 3 hours in total. When doing the fat grafting, they took fat from my thigh.. before extracting it, they sprayed what felt like disinfectant spray nearly 20 times. It seemed like they could stop spraying, but they kept spraying....(awkward) Still, I liked that it seemed clean. After all the disinfectant was sprayed, the doctor came in and said, “Think of it as riding a roller coaster,” and when I answered yes, my mind just floated away After a while, I woke up and heard the sound of fat being removed from my thigh and sucked into the machine. I could feel it a little, but it didn’t hurt at all.. After all the fat was removed, the nurses supported me and helped me turn from lying face-down to lying properly on my front, and they sent me off saying to ride the roller coaster again after the fat grafting Then when I woke up again, it was during the nose surgery. I could feel that something was being done, but there was no pain at all. Every time I woke up, the doctor somehow knew and told me what they were doing, said the surgery was going well, and said it was almost done. Anyway, there was absolutely no scary or boring feeling.
After everything was finished, they handed me a mirror and showed me the nose line. The doctor laughed and said they had raised the bridge a lot because I kept saying bridge between the eyebrows, bridge between the eyebrows and said honestly it didn’t really match their own taste and gave me the mirror. I was awake, but because the anesthesia hadn’t fully worn off I was a bit dazed, and the line looked pretty So I nodded happily, and then they taped everything back over.
Ah.. the surgery itself didn’t hurt at all, but at the very end after surgery, when they were disinfecting the nose, they sprayed something on my nose.. It was really spicy.. and stung.. and I thought maybe it would feel like being attacked by pepper spray. Anyway, that part was truly painful..
After surgery, because blood might flow a little from the nose, they put gauze under the nose and sent me slowly to recovery. I rested in the recovery room for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and once the dizziness was gone, I could be discharged. Since I’m from outside Seoul, I was discharged, went to Seoul Station, and took the KTX homeㄱㄱ..
But.. Starting that evening, the swelling began like crazy Maybe because I also had fat grafting, the overall swelling was huge, and the line I definitely saw before they put on the tape was pretty, but now with the tape on, the line seemed like the nose was lifted too much, and I was extremely worried.. So I took a photo of the nose and posted that it seemed lifted, and after seeing a few comments saying the nose will gradually settle but it seemed a bit too lifted, my feelings became even more complicated I went back to the clinic on days 2, 4, and 7 after surgery, and on day 2, when I said it seemed lifted, they said it could look more lifted because of postoperative swelling. They said that once the swelling goes down, it won’t look this lifted, so I trusted them and waited. They disinfected the inside of my nose with gauze, and they did it so carefully and delicately. It didn’t hurt at all. While disinfecting, I felt grateful again that I had chosen the right clinic.. The doctor looked at my nose and said the inside of the nose looked fine too, and since my home was far away, I didn’t need to come on day 4 and could just come on day 7; if I lived nearby they would tell me to come, but since my home was so far away, it was up to me. So I just went again on day 4 It was really far, but I also felt like I would be anxious all day if I stayed home, and when they disinfect the nose it feels like it opens up, which is so refreshing.. Anyway, I went on day 4 too, got it disinfected, and they asked if I felt the swelling had gone down a bit. I said I still wasn’t sure and that it still seemed a bit lifted, and we kept talking like that. On day 7, I went to remove the tape and looked at the line, and it was pretty!!!! The nose lift also felt like it had come down a lot!!! There was still some swelling, and because the tape had been wrapped around it I couldn’t keep looking at the bridge between my eyebrows, but there was a strong bridge between my eyebrows!!!! and a strong nose bridge!!!! It didn’t feel like me, so I kept looking at my face as I came out.. so fascinating.
Actually, the day I had nose surgery, I stupidly;; hit my nose with my hand. What was more despairing than the fact that it hurt so much was that the first time in my life I hit my nose was on the day of my nose surgery
While sleeping, I also pulled the blanket and hit my nose again The nose height felt like it had risen slightly, but I didn’t have that sensation, so I kept.. wanting to kill myself
Before, because I had no bridge between my eyebrows, when I woke up I used to rub my eyes straight horizontally.
After the nose surgery, when I pressed on the nose bridge while waking up, I got startled, and even though I stupidly pushed on it several times, seeing that it stayed firmly in place was really fascinating.. It seems the silicone was fixed very well..;;;
Anyway, when I went back to the clinic again at 2 weeks, because of what I had done, I asked the doctor whether the silicone had moved or anything. The doctor lightly touched it and said it hadn’t moved, but if you push hard, the silicone can move, and once that happens it doesn’t stay fixed, so it keeps moving. They said I shouldn’t give it a big impact I had already done that.. hehe.. anyway, I was glad it hadn’t moved '-^ By 2 weeks, the swelling had already gone down and it became the finished version
The nose I had cried about at first, saying it seemed lifted, turned out just right and pretty. Annoyingly, the doctor said it could still come down a little more
After the 2-week check, I met my friends, and they were all shocked. They said my nose and cheeks looked fuller and my face became more three-dimensional, and that the money was worth it, and everyone said it was pretty Especially the nose, it looked completely like my own, and when I said it had only been 2 weeks, they were stunned. They said the technology these days is amazing, and asked how the swelling could be so little.

I met my aunt too, and she thought I had done both the nose and facial contouring, and said my face felt smaller. She said she had always heard I was going to get surgery, so she thought I’d finally done it, but she couldn’t believe I had only done my nose She said I really did well, and my aunt in her 50s had a hot reaction too..
I also visited the dental clinic where I had orthodontic treatment before, for a follow-up check, and when I said I had nose surgery so please be careful, the female doctor who had been in charge of me said, “What!! Your nose was already fine though??” but then said my image looked completely different and more sophisticated She even asked where I had it done
The reactions from people around me were even hotter, which made me so happy *ㅡ_ㅡ* Most of all, they said it was a pretty nose that suited my face naturally without looking like I had surgery.
When I was very swollen because of the fat grafting, I was so depressed, and I regretted not skipping the fat grafting, but once the swelling went down and my cheeks became softly full, I definitely looked more feminine, looked younger, and looked more lively
I had seen many posts about people being neglected after surgery, and many people who were depressed because the results after surgery were completely different from the image they wanted, but here, the bridge between my eyebrows became strong exactly as I wanted, and it was a natural yet pretty nose line. And even after surgery, everyone was always really kind The friend who came with me for surgery even said this clinic was really, really kind It was that kind of place, kind x kind.. Before surgery I worried and worried whether I had chosen correctly, but after surgery I’m so proud that I chose right
