I had the surgery in January 2016, so it’s been almost 3 years. I had it under sedation anesthesia, so I didn’t feel pain during the surgery. After the surgery, the stitches pulled on my eyes, so that pulling sensation hurt a bit, but I think it was tolerable.
What feels like a side effect now is... maybe my eyes feel slightly irritated/dry? Also, sometimes the area where I had the canthoplasty feels a little itchy. Both are very mild, so I’m not sure if it’s because of the posterior canthoplasty... It just feels a bit itchy sometimes. It may not be because of the posterior canthoplasty; I have allergies, so that could be why it itches. As you can see from the photos, it didn’t go back to the way it was before, but even if it was opened a lot, it doesn’t stay exactly that much and seems to close up a little. Of course, it’s more opened than before. I was young, and I was so caught up in wanting it badly that I just went ahead without really looking into the side effects. Luckily, it didn’t turn out badly, but they say it’s still not a fully verified surgery. There are so many people suffering because of posterior canthoplasty online, so I really hope you decide carefully.
