I have the common skinny-fat body type, with thin arms and legs, but no matter how much I exercised, the abdominal area would not slim down, so after thinking about it for a long time, I had abdominal liposuction surgery about 2 years ago.
After the surgery, the doctor said I had less subcutaneous fat than expected, so they could only remove 200 cc? from my lower abdomen, a very small amount.
But even though only a little was removed, I got the commonly mentioned lumpy, uneven side effect. When I told the clinic about it six months later, they acted like it was no big deal and said it is originally difficult to make it flat, and that they would touch it up a bit more. They removed a little more fat from the bulging areas, but after the revision surgery, those areas became even more sunken than after the first surgery..
Now, after about 2 years, when I wear a bikini and look down at my stomach from above, it is not flat and is bumpy and uneven.... Enough that someone a bit sensitive would notice? There are shadows here and there too....
It was mini liposuction, and I think I had the surgery too lightly, with the careless thought that even if everyone else gets side effects, I probably would not. If I could go back, I would have exercised harder instead, but I absolutely would not decide to have surgery. For reference, the suction? burn mark below my navel, which they said would disappear soon, is still clear even now, 2 years later.
I hope anyone considering liposuction will think carefully.
