First of all, I’m male, and although my cheekbones weren’t extremely prominent, I didn’t like that there was a slight contour irregularity in my lateral cheekbones and 45-degree cheekbones, so I had surgery. Because I absolutely had to recover within 2 weeks, I chose soft cheekbone reduction, which has a fast recovery period and safety, rather than the traditional cheekbone surgery method.
Before surgery, I had a consultation with the director for about 30 minutes to 1 hour, and I really felt well taken care of, so I trusted the hospital. Before surgery, if you give your card to the nurse, the nurse goes to the pharmacy on your behalf and gets the prescribed medication. After the surgery was over and I woke up from sedation anesthesia, my entire face was wrapped in bandages. There was slight dizziness, but it wasn’t a real problem, and I put on a hoodie and the mask they gave me there, took a taxi, and went home. There was truly no pain at all. I think it would be fair to say there was almost none.
At home, I had prepared food such as porridge, thin rice gruel, juice, soy milk, and pumpkin juice. The bandage stays on for two days, and they told me not even to eat porridge while wearing the bandage, so I tried to eat thin rice gruel, but it tasted so bad that for two days I just had juice, soy milk, and pumpkin juice.
On day 3, when I removed the bandage, I could see a few marks from burst blood vessels and bruises on my cheeks, but since I’m the type who doesn’t swell much, it wasn’t as severe as I expected. My face swelled to both sides and the shape of my face became an O.
Looking at this community, there were people saying their lateral cheekbones didn’t reduce at all, so before getting the surgery I was really worried about the effect, but now on day 6, although there is still swelling left, the part of my lateral cheekbones that used to protrude compared to my temples has been smoothly cleaned up into a better line, and I can clearly see that the 45-degree cheekbones have gone in too.
