Nose Surgery Reviews

[Clinic A] review

I had planned a tight schedule to visit several clinics in one day, but two days before my appointment they said the time might need to be changed because the doctor had surgery, so I rescheduled. Then I had to make an unavoidable adjustment on the day, so I called and they moved me to an earlier time. At the time I was glad I could continue my consultations without disrupting my schedule, but now I wonder whether the surgery had been canceled. My first impression after arriving was that the clinic felt very old, like a 2010s atmosphere. Even though it was called a “naturalism” plastic surgery clinic, the TV showed a beauty with a very old-fashioned surgical look, which made me think, “Huh?” Consultation proceeded in the usual consultant–doctor–consultant order. The consultant gave me the overall estimate and said my nose was crooked and had a bony framework, so osteotomy and silicone would be needed. I understand that basic explanation is necessary before meeting the doctor, but it was ridiculous that she set the entire surgical plan as if she were the doctor. When I asked whether CCTV footage could be viewed, she became very defensive. She said viewing was possible but that the law required certain documents, so every clinic would be the same. It seemed like she was indirectly saying it was basically not possible. That was when I got a very bad feeling. The doctor was extremely kind! Starting with the most basic surgical process and explaining the materials, the doctor made it seem understandable even for someone who knew nothing. After looking at my CT, the doctor said my septum was deviated and could not be used, so suggested using rib cartilage. One unusual point was that the fat tissue removed from the tip of my nose would be used to fill uneven areas. Rib cartilage plus ear cartilage plus thread seemed to be the basic package. The doctor said there was no substitute for silicone on the nasal bridge, and advised against shaving rib cartilage to shape it because it would look uneven. (I completely agreed.) The doctor had a really pleasant impression. I almost wanted to have surgery based on the person alone. At the final consultation with the consultant, she asked, “What did the doctor say? Everything she said was right, wasn’t it?” That was absurd. She showed three prices each for donor rib cartilage and autologous rib cartilage: original price, discounted price, and same-day booking price. The last one, fluctuating around the ten-thousand-won units and nearly crossing the million-won range, was supposedly the lowest price they could offer. I don't remember clearly because the prices were in ten-thousand-won increments, but I think it was roughly 5.3 million won for donor rib cartilage and 6.2 million won for autologous rib cartilage. She also said she had received both her nose and eyes there, but although styling may have played a part, the result felt too flashy, which made me question the doctor's aesthetic sense too. I probably won't have surgery there.
