Sharing my review of the progress about 1 year after square jaw reduction surgery First of all, the surgery cost was cheap + it was a private clinic + the director had long experience I went for a consultation after looking at these points, but during the consultation, rather than asking for the patient’s opinion, the director mostly expressed his own opinion and said he would just make it look pretty and do a good job. After the consultation, I had some doubts, but going around for more consultations was annoying and I didn’t have time, so I complacently thought that he must have skills equal to his experience and went into the operating room. I wanted to have muscle resection, but because I had gotten Botox at the time, he did not let me do it, so only behind-the-ear excision + cortical bone osteotomy were performed. I went into the operating room, fell asleep under sedation anesthesia, and when I woke up, there was no pain. After 2 hours, I went home with a drainage tube and rested. After that, it wasn’t that the surgical area hurt; it was uncomfortable because I couldn’t wash my hair, and the dangling drainage tube bothered me, so sleeping was tiring. On day 3, I couldn’t do the motion of sticking my tongue out far, so I told the hospital. On day 6, I visited the hospital, had the compression bandage around my face removed, learned the way this hospital recommends using a facial compression band, and did it diligently at home. Gradually, my tongue returned to how it was before, but when I press the jaw area where the cortical bone osteotomy was done, it feels slightly sensitive, as if I can feel a nerve. It doesn’t hurt. It is still like that now, 1 year later, but the sensation is gradually getting weaker. Even if it doesn’t disappear completely, it doesn’t bother me Anyway, I’m satisfied with the surgical result, and it looks natural, not an excessive doll-like line. If the scar behind the ear bothers you, that’s a drawback, but during aftercare they gave scar-tissue injections, so it calmed down a bit. I’m satisfied with the result for the price, and if the scar behind the ear doesn’t bother you, I recommend it.
