They explained the surgical process in really great detail. They seemed to have pride in it. They said they don’t use donor rib cartilage and prefer costal cartilage over ear cartilage. They held my nose and checked whether the cartilage was sturdy and whether the ear cartilage was sturdy. No CT scan. They said that during surgery, they put up celebrity photos and operate while looking at them. I brought photos of noses I liked, but they didn’t really point out that anything specifically wouldn’t work. It was just about the level of “if you do this from the photo, it would be prettier” or “this kind of nose is prettier.” I mentioned various noses I dislike, but I didn’t really feel like they listened extremely carefully or that communication was happening well. The consultation time was long, and out of 100, about 80 was explanation of the surgical process and 20 was about noses I liked or questions. The consultant was warm and treated me kindly, but she strongly gave off a “just do it here!” vibe. It would be my first surgery, but it is expensive for a first surgery. The first digit is 4, but you could basically view it as 5. It’s also my fault for forgetting and not asking, but I didn’t hear an explanation of about how many mm of silicone would be appropriate. I went with expectations because I heard about it through word of mouth, but personally, it didn’t really click with me. More than I expected, I felt that communication about the noses I like/dislike didn’t go well. Even though I opened my notes app and wrote down important things while listening, all I remember is the surgical process. Revision surgery consultations may be different, but as someone getting a first surgery, I’m passing. I’m in my early 20s, and the consultant seemed 40-50. I didn’t care whether the consultant was older or younger, but she had that typical older-lady semi-polite speech and kept saying there was no need to go elsewhere, so it felt very strongly like she was trying to persuade me. It’s true that I’m young, but she treated me way too much like a child. That’s also part of why I got my deposit back. This is just my personal opinion, so please use it as reference~
