I had my first rhinoplasty in 2008. My nose was very low and small, so I had silicone inserted, but as time passed, the nasal tip started to show through. In 2011, I had revision surgery at the same hospital where I had my first surgery. They said they would cut off the silicone at the nasal tip, cover it with scalp dermis, and since my nose looked long, lift the nasal tip with ear cartilage. Since it was the expert’s opinion, I just did as they recommended, but after surgery my nostrils became uneven, and the silicone on the nasal bridge has been shifting more and more to the right. I decided based on an acquaintance’s recommendation without even looking into other plastic surgery clinics, and I really regret it. Honestly, I want to remove both the silicone and the ear cartilage completely, but I’m told that even removal can cause contracture or side effects. And if I do another revision surgery, I’m worried it might look even stranger or cause side effects.
