Clinic review from a community

After going around to about three or four places for consultations.. I went thinking that since it was a fairly large clinic, it would at least be average. (This was surgery I had about 5 years ago... If I were doing it now, I think I would have looked into it much, much more carefully.) First of all, maybe because it was winter break, there were a lot of people, and the doctor just felt like AI. Right before surgery, when they were marking the line, I timidly asked, because I was worried it might become a sausage eyelid, "Wouldn't the line be too high..?" Without any comment, they immediately accepted my opinion, marked it lower, and went into the operating room. I didn't like that. It felt pretty bad that, just because a 17-year-old kid timidly asked something, they gave no expert comment (= why that line would be okay, what they thought would suit my eyes, etc.) and just went okay okay after hearing my timid remark. Surgery: Maybe they gave me a very strong dose of sedation anesthesia, or maybe my constitution is strange, but I was groggy for much longer than people around me who had double eyelid surgery under sedation. I only remember when they woke me up midway to check the line, and the rest was deep sleep. It was good that there was no pain. Surgical result: It was set as an in-out fold, but now, 5 years later, it has become an in-fold, almost a hidden double eyelid. But it absolutely does not look obvious. Since I prefer a natural look, I don't mind. But if I had gone with the line the doctor initially marked, it might look just right and pretty now, though I probably would have been depressed until about the 1-year mark. Also, there is a depressed area of skin on one eye where I had medial epicanthoplasty. There was also a medial epicanthoplasty scar until about 1 year. It gradually faded, so now it is almost invisible. They also did scar laser treatment fairly well. They said they could do filler for the depressed area too, but because I was in high school, my mom strongly opposed it, asking what if it got worse after touching it, so I didn't do it. Conclusion: I like the surgical result. But if it were me now, I think I would have had the consultation and skipped it because the doctor felt off.
