4-Week Review After MENTOR Implants

Before/after 4-week review after MENTOR implants

[Clinic] I had been interested in breast surgery when I previously got a petit procedure here, so I searched a few breast surgery reviews here. I chose this clinic after seeing that there was no corrective bra or compression bandage, only an upper band. (I’ve had more successful experiences when I just chose based on instinct rather than going around to consultations and researching intensely.)

[Size] Before surgery: very small breasts that didn’t even fill an A cup After surgery: 75B-70C / 295 cc, 350 cc (I learned for the first time that the implant size you can get is determined by your body measurements.)

[Incision] I did the armpit incision. I wear sleeveless tops a lot, and it shows more than I expected. I was going to do the inframammary incision, but people around me + the consultant recommended the armpit incision, so I did that, and I regret it a little. Since revision surgery would be through the inframammary fold anyway, and I’m not trying to pretend they’re natural, I feel even more like I should have done the inframammary incision.

[Recovery] Right after surgery: I didn’t really have any side effects from general anesthesia except constipation, and maybe because of the pain-control injection, I didn’t have anywhere that hurt, so I took the bus home alone just fine. (2-hour distance) Week 1: I rested over the weekend and went back to work, but if possible, I recommend taking a full week off. It wasn’t as painful or difficult as I expected, but I think it’s best to move your body as little as possible. (There were more things in daily life that put strain on the chest than I expected.) When I walked for a long time and got out of breath, taking a deep breath hurt, maybe because it put pressure on my chest. Week 2: It was hard to lift my arms high or open doors, but there was no major difficulty going around outside. I went shopping and got around fine. Something really stressful happened, and it was fascinating because my chest immediately felt tight and like it was clumping up. (It got better once the stress eased.) Week 3: A lot of the upper swelling went down, and using my arms became much more comfortable. There were a few times I had to move items weighing about 1-2 kg, and I developed a subtle pain in my chest and arms. Week 4: I ordered a lot of deliveries and moved items weighing about 3-5 kg several times, but the pain was less than in week 3. + More than the surgical pain or the stress from recovery, I’m really stressed by the discoloration from an allergic reaction to the tape used during surgery and the discoloration near my armpits from chafing caused by wearing the upper band. The clinic says it will get better with time, but even now, almost a month later, there’s no sign it has lightened much. (I bought ointment at the pharmacy and have been applying it, but no improvement X)

[Aftercare] Honestly, I’m not sure whether it has any effect.
