Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

I had my stitches removed on day 8 after total removal surgery.

I finally had my stitches removed today. It stung just a little, but it was okay.

After the stitches were removed, because of the scar tissue, they explained the retainer support device to me and I received one. It’s made of silicone? material and it’s soft and squishy lol

They explained the role of the retainer in an easy-to-understand way: just like body-shaping underwear holds in sagging skin that appears after sudden dieting, the retainer’s role is to help the scar tissue adhere closely to the skin. The rental fee is 60,000 won, and they said the money will be returned when I return the retainer. The wearing period is 8 hours a day for one month ㅠㅠ I wonder if it will really have a dramatic effect.. For now, I’m going to try to use it consistently!

And I had heard that during the surgery, they slightly filled in the bridge of my nose with cartilage to make the nasal bridge line smoother, but that wasn’t the case. After the surgery I was half-asleep, so I guess I misunderstood ㅠㅠ They said they removed all the silicone and cartilage in my nose, and only slightly refined the nasal bridge line.

There is still some swelling, and the bruising around my eyes shows no sign of going away, so I’m worried about going back to work next week.. I’m returning to work after 9 days off, but for those considering removal, I think it would be better to schedule plenty of time.

Since the swelling hasn’t fully gone down yet, the bridge looks okay from the side, but from the front, the nasal tip and overall nose definitely look a bit spread out, so cosmetically it is a little disappointing, but it can’t be helped..!

When I was also agonizing over silicone removal, I joined a community, searched for clinics, and went around for consultations, and I really kept going in and out of that community all day long.

Because I know that feeling so well, I’m writing this in hopes that it may be of even a little help ㅠㅠ

For those agonizing over removal, I hope you go to many consultations and choose a clinic that suits you :-)
