It was nice that the consultant first gave me a detailed consultation in a very comfortable atmosphere. Although this would be my first surgery, the director recommended costal cartilage because my septal cartilage is short, and considering that other hospitals recommended septal cartilage and donated costal cartilage, I think it may be because the desired height, style, or surgical style differs. They said the scar from autologous costal cartilage harvesting is much smaller than at other hospitals, so even though it would be my first surgery, I’m considering whether to try it. I wanted a straight nose, and the director recommended a straight line close to a straight-with-slight-curve style, leaning closer to natural within the glamorous-to-natural range. I didn’t know much about rhinoplasty when I went for the consultation, so I couldn’t ask proper questions, but they explained the relationships among the nasolabial angle, nasal ala, and columella one by one, leading to a satisfying consultation. The A/S period is 2 years, which is on the longer side, and if you request it in advance, you can view the surgery CCTV at increased playback speed. They also say they perform a maximum of only 2 surgeries per day. It was disappointing that there weren’t many before-and-after photos of cases similar to mine, but overall, I liked that there was enough consultation time without feeling pressured. However, there are some bad reviews within this community, so that’s making me hesitate..!
