It has been about 1 year since my surgery, and I had natural adhesion double-eyelid surgery + lateral and lower canthoplasty. The reason I chose the clinic was probably something some people may relate to: it was a single-doctor clinic, and because the doctor was a woman, I felt a bit more drawn to it. When I first went for the consultation, I talked about the things I was most worried about: whether the lateral/lower canthoplasty would become a C-shape, whether the double-eyelid line would come out as the line I wanted, and whether there would be scars. They confidently said that because it was natural adhesion, there would be no scars, and for the canthoplasty, because they would absolutely not widen it excessively, there was absolutely no chance it would become C-shaped. That reassured me, so I chose them in the end. To start with the conclusion, despite it being natural adhesion (buried suture method), stitch marks (pinched marks) remained on one eye, and for the canthoplasty, one side definitely settled into a C-shape. Functionally, after the canthoplasty, I developed dryness and a problem where tears suddenly stream down. (The tears do not flow from the tear gland at the inner corner of the eye, but from the area where the lateral/lower canthoplasty was done.) When I brought this up, the director said that the eye, which looks C-shaped to anyone, was not C-shaped to this degree, and because none of the patients they had operated on had ever had this kind of problem due to canthoplasty, they said it was absolutely not a side effect caused by the canthoplasty. Before surgery, I had never had this phenomenon at all, and nothing had changed except the eye surgery, but they said it was not their fault... Also, even though I emphasized the double-eyelid line shape I wanted several times, the result did not come out exactly matching the line I wanted. What disappointed me most was that the things the doctor had confidently guaranteed were not upheld at all, and the doctor's inadequate response to complaints after surgery. Because of the C-shape, I have been extremely stressed for 1 year, and because of the double-eyelid stitch scars, I am so self-conscious even when I close or blink my eyes outside, so I am looking into revision surgery. Please keep this in mind before consultation and surgery.
