I went in for a consultation last fall. When I arrived, they told me to fill out a chart, so I filled it out and submitted it to the front desk staff. The front desk staff received the chart and asked in a very loud voice, “ㅇㅇㅇ, your resident registration number is 010203-1234567 (example), correct?” There were other customers besides me waiting on the sofa in the lobby. It’s not like I was far away from the front desk; I was standing right in front of it. They could have pointed to the resident registration number and asked, “Is this correct?” Or if they were going to say the resident registration number out loud, they could have whispered it. I don’t know why they had to say it so loudly and clearly. (To begin with, I hadn’t even written my resident registration number incorrectly, so I don’t really know why they asked as soon as they received the chart. But if they had asked in a way that other customers couldn’t hear, I think I would have just let it go.) And there was another staff member at the front desk too, but while that staff member was calling out all 13 digits of my resident registration number where other customers could hear it, they didn’t stop them. At that point I thought, ‘Ah, the staff don’t value customers’ personal information at all,’ and I crossed the place off in my mind. The director was very kind and gave a good consultation, but my mind was already made up, so I just left. It looks like staff training is urgently needed.
