These are my personal feelings and experience.
Summary first) After around 40 days, it felt like I had returned to my preoperative face (most of the swelling had gone down). Sadly, people around me don’t really know I had surgery. (It’s a bit sad that even my actual family doesn’t know.) The scars at the sideburn incision sites are still obvious. I asked them to shave as much as possible for a doll-like facial contour, but it doesn’t show much. The only thing that really shows seems to be the sideburn “pupa” scars..

Process and 76-day experience.
Before surgery - I had it done at a hospital famous for doll-like facial contouring. Looking at the comments, everyone said they had good results, and I saw a lot of comments like, “Isn’t that the doll-line hospital?” so I chose it. The cost was a little under 10 million KRW. I read tip posts by experienced people in this community before going............ (for example, preparing a cushion because you keep sitting after surgery, etc..)
After surgery and postoperative day 1 - I sat in the recovery room for a while, then went up to the ward. Bloody phlegm kept coming out, my lips were very swollen, and blood drain tubes came out from both sides of my lips, so I couldn’t close my mouth and drool kept dripping. Even if I tilted my head forward just slightly, blood + saliva would flow out with no sensation. (It was exactly like the orange juice guy from that morning drama.) Pain-wise.. I was in a lot of pain. My cheekbones and molar area kept throbbing, and the phlegm kept rattling in my throat, so it was hard to sleep. When I got painkillers, I could endure it, but around the time the medicine wore off, the throbbing came back.
I had read preoperative tip posts and brought various things, but it kept throbbing, and because of the phlegm the rattling kept bothering me.. The tips I brought.. I.. didn’t have time to use a single one. It hurt a lot and I was out of it.. I just spaced out, stayed up all night with my eyes open.. In the morning, they removed the blood drains and I was discharged. Removing the blood drain tubes was tolerable, but when they stitched those areas after taking the tubes out, it stung and hurt, and because they had to open my lips wide to proceed.. it hurt in a combined way. I teared up a little.. but it ended quickly. (Under 5 minutes)
Postoperative day 2 - I kept swelling more and more.. It was hard to take the discharge medication. Taking pills one by one was frustrating, and when I ate liquid food and pumpkin juice, I kept spilling it... The intake rate was a bit low. I sat on the sofa all day and just practiced patience. The pain is much less than yesterday? Yesterday I thought I was going to die..
Postoperative day 3 - My face kept swelling. (My eyes were also bloodshot and the bruising was severe, like that Mountain golem from Game of Thrones wearing a helmet, with only bloodshot eyes visible.. exactly that look;;;) My face was truly horrifying, so worried about shocking passersby, I only went out at night to deserted places wearing a hat + hoodie + mask, creeping around. Totally like a field mouse..
Postoperative day 4 - The swelling was similar, but my skill at swallowing pills and drinking liquid food without spilling improved. When I finished a meal without spilling, I somehow felt proud.
Postoperative day 5 - Since it didn’t hurt, I kept focusing on useless things... The taped areas on my face kept itching... I couldn’t scratch them.. Then I just went, ugh whatever.. and took the tape off and scratched. (The hospital recommended removing the tape at 5-7 days.) Since I had taken one side off, I ended up taking all the tape off, and the stuffy feeling got a bit better. But my face didn’t look very good;;; (After removing the tape, it felt like the Mountain took off his helmet.) From this day on, I started sleeping deeply little by little..
Postoperative day 6 - My desires increased.. They say when you’re standing you want to sit, and when you’re sitting you want to lie down.. Once it became bearable, I kept wanting to wash.. wanted to wash my hair....... I used the dry shampoo I bought at Olive Young.. It didn’t really feel like I had washed, but I just used even that reluctantly.. Eating was still liquid food...... Because I didn’t spill much while eating, I felt good for no reason, thinking, “I’m getting better little by little..” I felt so good that day that I made steamed eggs, but they got stuck all over my mouth and brushing my teeth was hard, so I resolved, okay.. don’t be greedy, just eat liquid food for a while..
Postoperative day 7 - From this point, the swelling began to decrease little by little, but not rapidly. It was like a very inflated balloon that had been tied wrong, slowly letting air out without you really noticing.. That’s how it went down from then on. I went to the hospital, had the stitches at the sideburns removed, and had the remaining bandages taken off. Now I no longer wore a hoodie and just walked around with a hat and mask.
Postoperative day 8 - Finally, today I took a proper sho☆wer. My body felt refreshed, but my face didn’t feel very refreshed;;;;; (Still just the Mountain.)
Postoperative day 9 - Liquid food really didn’t seem right anymore.. I started eating eggs, tofu.. and porridge. It tasted amazing.. Instead, I brushed my teeth carefully..
Postoperative days 10-20 - *There were no special events after day 10, so I’m grouping them together..
Nothing much happened; I just got by... I walked 1-2 hours a day, and alternated between New Care and porridge for meals. Around 2 weeks later, they removed the intraoral stitches, and it stung. It was tolerable. When I laughed or talked, the intraoral stitches pulled and hurt, but once they were removed, it was so comfortable. Brushing my teeth was easier too..
Postoperative days 20-30 - The swelling had gone down a lot, so from day 20 I didn’t wear a mask at night. Still, I wore one during the day. (Because my eyes were still bloodshot and bruising remained around the cheekbones..) I spat out bloody phlegm until day 30..
Postoperative days 30-76 - The dark bruising was almost gone, but some yellow bruising remained. When I looked in the mirror under bright lighting, the area around my eyes looked yellowish;; The swelling looks almost gone. The internet says so, and the consultation manager also said I still need to wait and watch the contour line.... They say I need to wait 3 months....... But honestly, subjectively, it looks almost (95%) gone.. Family members who know I had surgery say, “Wow, almost all the swelling is gone.. now you look somewhat human,” but.. some of my family members still don’t know I had surgery.. After surgery, I met about 18 friends, and 16 of them didn’t know. One said, did you lose facial fat? It seems like you changed a bit...? Another said, your chin tip looks blunt? That’s about what I heard.. (I asked them to make it pointyㅜㅜ) At one week, after all the bandages were removed, I looked at my chin and was disappointed, wondering why it was so blunt, but back then I believed it was because of swelling. At this point, it also feels like the time when disappointment with the result sets in... Did I have surgery for nothing.. Should I have done it somewhere else.. I wonder if I need revision surgery somewhere else later.. all sorts of feelings cross my mind.. It feels like I went through all that hardship on my own only to return to where I started.. Maybe it’s because my original face before surgery didn’t have any angular protruding parts...
** Personally, what I’m curious about is: in the reviews here, those who got short, pointy, pretty doll-like lines, are they really posting without retouching? For me too, if I retouch just slightly and change the angle, I photograph as a total dream doll-line face, but my actual face isn’t that level.... so there’s a disconnect;; Do most people who post doll-like contour results upload them after retouching?ㅠㅠ I’m not trying to criticize; I’m just curious.. Whether they look that pretty all the time! I had surgery, but I don’t ㅠㅠ
