Well. I do not really know this hospital. I went for a double-eyelid consultation, and they said forehead lifting would be more effective than double eyelid surgery because of my facial structure, so they focused on recommending forehead lifting. Up to that point, I thought it made sense. At other hospitals too, I had heard once or twice that it might be good to do double eyelid surgery now and then forehead lifting in my 40s. I know my own face better than anyone after living with it for decades. The reason they recommended forehead lifting was professional and understandable.
But the problem was that, while recommending forehead lifting to me in my mid-20s, they did not even explain exactly how the procedure would be done, and just kept showing me the same 3 or 4 before-and-after photos over and over, saying things like this was not the time to be thinking about doing double eyelid surgery first.
The doctor seemed confident in his skill, so it was fine that he pushed forehead lifting over double eyelid surgery, but... personally, it felt too excessive for me. They said things like other hospitals would have recommended incision plus eye correction, but that would not be enough. Frankly, if forehead lifting is more profitable, why would they not recommend it then. I think that is just a difference in perspective. And forehead lifting is not classified as a youthful-looking surgery for no reason. Of course, I am not an expert, so I could be wrong, but the way they kept pushing it like that was very burdensome.
I appreciate that they spent nearly 40 minutes on the consultation and gave it so carefully. But the consultation director was not great either. When I said forehead lifting felt too burdensome, that it was a youthful-looking procedure, and that it surprised me, he pushed back by saying my thinking was old-fashioned, and said only a highly skilled doctor like ours could perform this kind of surgery neatly...ㅎㅎ
Then they gave me estimates for partial incision + eye correction + epicanthoplasty / forehead lifting, two separate options... I found that a bit much. The doctor said that to solve the fundamental problem, forehead lifting was more urgent than double eyelid surgery, but the consultation director said that if I did double eyelid surgery first, they could set the line a bit lower and then later, after the swelling subsided, I could do forehead lifting, and that the order did not matter. Isn't that contradictory...? Since I felt it was not the right hospital for me anyway, I did not argue on the spot, but for a place with good reviews, it felt rather questionable.
Especially the consultation director... when I asked whether they provide laser treatment for scar tissue or similar after double eyelid surgery and epicanthoplasty, and whether there was aftercare, they proudly answered that because the doctor was so skilled, there would be no scars. That even without laser or anything, there would be no scarring... which means there is no aftercare. These days, wherever you go, they at least give one laser session, even if you have to pay for it, so I was a bit taken aback. The consultation director kept emphasizing the doctor's skill and saying only our doctor can do this, and after a while that also felt burdensome. Even without all that pushing, I already felt during the doctor's consultation that he was very professional...ㅠㅠ
