Hello, I received a lot of help from a community, so I came to write a review. First of all, I have a small, low nose, but I was firmly against putting in siliconeㅠㅠ I was really scared of foreign-body side effects Also, my facial features themselves are round and soft, so I thought that an obviously pretty nose, like a straight-to-slightly-curved mushroom-style nose, wouldn’t suit me anyway So I decided to touch only the nasal tip and went for consultations During consultations, most places recommended silicone + septal cartilage, and every time I saw reviews of sleek noses in the community, I was tempted by silicone, but I kept looking at photos of IU’s nose and steeled myself, thinking, ‘I should only make a slight improvement like this too’ㅠㅠㅠ
Wherever I went, I said the same requests: ‘I don’t want to put in an implant. I want to improve my spread-out, blunt nasal tip with support, and I also want the connected nasal bridge area to be done with cartilage.’ I had consultations at 4 places, and they all said I needed silicone for a pretty nose, that if I only did the nasal tip it would look like Pinocchio, that it would look like only the tip had been stretched out, and so onㅜㅜ But only one place said it could be done with non-open ear cartilage and cartilage suturing. I wanted to use septal cartilage through an open approach and have it corrected more definitely, so even when I asked again, the doctor confidently said that since I wasn’t completely changing my nose, making the nasal tip slimmer and more defined was possible with non-open ear cartilage. They also said that if I wasn’t going to put in silicone, they didn’t recommend opening it up unnecessarily and leaving a scar But what I was dissatisfied with during the consultation process was that the consultation with the consultant was long, while the consultation with the director was only about 2 or 3 minutes? Even so, somehow I was drawn to it and felt trust. The director had a long career, and I also liked the review photos. The first consultation was very short, but what I liked was that on the day of surgery, during the design consultation, the doctor focused on listening to my requests: ‘My nose is already short, so absolutely don’t make it upturned; definitely improve the blunt nasal tip,’ and sincerely consulted with me, saying they would try their best
On the day after surgery, I didn’t have much swelling, and I was too lazy to do compresses, but after about a week, most of the major swelling was gone. I even had the splint removed after 4 days and went to an interviewㅋㅋㅋ It just felt like my nose was a bit big, but it didn’t look strange. After 2 weeks, all the firmness was gone, I could hold my nose and move it left and right freely, and I had no foreign-body sensation at all. Personally, when there was some swelling, it looked prettier because it was higher overall, but to maintain that I would need silicone, so I’ll be satisfied with how it is nowㅠㅠ
What I felt while going through rhinoplasty as someone who worries a lot is that during consultations, I think it’s better to avoid places that propose a one-size-fits-all surgery. Of course, rhinoplasty methods are mostly similar, but if they don’t say, ‘Your nose is like this, so we’ll improve it like this, and doing this will work,’ and instead just say, ‘Hmm, we can raise the nasal tip with septal cartilage and place silicone,’ I think that’s a consultation that doesn’t consider the patient enough for a nose surgery where even a tiny difference in angle can determine the resultㅠㅠㅎㅎ
