Consultation went in the order of manager-doctor-manager. The manager said I would need cartilage binding + lifting the nasal tip + smoothing the nasal bridge hump + silicone + alar reduction + osteotomy. It felt like they were just saying everything that could possibly be done. I wasn’t even considering osteotomy, so I was a little taken aback.. (I heard this place recommends unnecessary things too, and it seems to be true..) Among the various doctors at this clinic, they said there is exactly one doctor who specializes in noses, and that the surgery takes a long time because he performs it very carefully and cautiously.
Doctor’s estimate: bring the tip together and lift it, reduce the nostrils, shave the slight hump on the bridge, then implant = 3.5 million won. Osteotomy isn’t necessary, and they would use ear cartilage and the septum for the tip, and because the tip shouldn’t become too high, they would place silicone from the glabella to the area where the hump was shaved. If I dislike silicone, they said they could use ear cartilage, but it might not be enough, so they would likely use it together with another implant.
When I asked about complications, he confidently said he had never seen a single complication. Said pig-nose motion doesn’t work, and if the nasal tip becomes hard or the design after surgery isn’t to his liking, those can also count as complications. But he said he had never once seen a complication..
When I asked directly whether they do aftercare if there are complications, if improvement is insufficient, or if I don’t like the result, they didn’t answer yes or no, but instead explained with other cases. But it seems like this doctor’s conversational style is to lead you toward the meaning he intends by bringing up examples and asking things like “seems like that?” What irritated me was that they wouldn’t give a clear answer on such an important and sensitive topic as aftercare, and kept beating around the bush, so I asked, "Ah, so you’re saying you won’t do it?" and then he got flustered and said that they would... Seeing that made me lose a tiny bit of trust. However, when he explained in detail while looking at the CT and photos and using Photoshop to show the changes, he was the kindest and most thorough out of the 4 clinics, which I liked.
