Phew <post-op recovery room><just taken at home><copy of the post I uploaded before surgery> I’m filling out the consent form now and waiting for my consultation with the director!! After meeting an incompetent doctor, I spent the past 1 year and 6 months suffering through every kind of stress because of a clinic that wouldn’t admit anything was wrong and wouldn’t even tell me the surgical method. Finally, I’m here for revision surgery!!! (There were also 3 clinics that refused revision surgery...) Actually, I had previously booked surgery at another clinic and put down a deposit of 700,000 won. Then I came for a consultation at this clinic after getting a recommendation, and I was satisfied with the line, service, and the surgical method explained during the consultation, so even though I couldn’t get the 700,000 won deposit back, I canceled that booking and immediately booked this clinic haha. Super fast decision lolololol After arriving, I washed my face, changed clothes, filled out the consent form, and now I’m getting IV fluids to prevent dehydration because I had to fast before surgery haha. Only the consultation with the director is left lololol Honestly, I was really worried, but they contacted me yesterday and we talked on the phone for 20 minutes~ The consent form even has details about post-op aftercare written in it, so I feel like I can trust them more and go through with it!! With this final surgery, I want to fix the damaged function and aesthetics and live beautifully haha My pre-op satisfaction is perfect I’ll post another review after surgery~ ————————————————————————
First of all, excluding all anesthesia preparation, the surgery took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Because I have trauma from sexual assault, I had sleep anesthesia, and instead of autologous cartilage, they used donated costal cartilage for both the septum and nasal bridge. They also removed scar tissue, improved the columellar incision scar, corrected my deviated nose, lengthened it, reconstructed the septum, and corrected the nasolabial angle. (They said they would treat rhinitis and sinusitis if they saw them once they opened it up, but I haven’t been able to ask yet because I didn’t see the director after it ended.) I had written down a ton of things to ask during the pre-op consultation with the director, but he brought up almost all of them first lolololololol
The director here is famous for really favoring autologous costal cartilage, but I think my post will be helpful for people who like the clinic’s line but feel burdened by autologous costal cartilage. (They use donated costal cartilage, DCI? product, a very good and firm material.)
After surgery, the anesthesiology director personally supported me as I came out, and apparently I went to the bathroom and they removed the IV needle from my arm, but I have absolutely no memory of that lolololol When I had my first nose surgery, I don’t know if the anesthetic didn’t suit me, but when the anesthetic was administered through my arm, I felt a strange smell spreading through my blood, and even after waking from anesthesia I vomited because of that smell (I could still smell it even while vomiting...). That lasted 3-4 days, and when I went back to the clinic for follow-ups and care, that smell was there, so it was really hard for meㅠㅠ But here, they connected me to an ECG monitor, put on an oxygen respirator, and oxygen was being supplied. Then the anesthesiology director said, “We’re starting anesthesia now. Take deep breaths~ Breathe in deeply and breathe out~” and things gradually became blurry, and when I woke up I was in the recovery room haha I don’t know whether they used gas anesthesia or whether they injected the anesthetic after I lost consciousness, but waking up from anesthesia was comfortable with no nausea at all. Lately, because of surgery anxiety, I’d been tormented by nightmares and couldn’t sleep comfortably, but it felt like I finally slept deeply for the first time in a while and woke up refreshed. Another thing that moved me was that because I have severe trauma from having been sexually assaulted during sleep anesthesia before, I refused a urinary catheter and acted very sensitive. I thought they might feel offended, but instead they worried about me even more and accommodated everything in the direction I wanted!! Since it was Saturday, they probably would have been getting off work early, but they kindly told me to rest as long as I wanted before leaving, so I rested well until after 5:30 and then came out because I felt sorry lol
I still have the splint on, and half my face is taped, so I don’t know the line yetㅠㅠ But so far!! My satisfaction is 100000000000%!! After meeting a crazy director, I was left full of scar tissue and had trouble breathing, but my breathing has improved too. I hope the line that became puffy from fat grafting also looks pretty once the taping comes off, I really hope so~ Sometimes reviews of this clinic say the shape is weird or they avoid responsibility, so I was really worried, but this is actually the first clinic I’ve seen that includes A/S details directly in the consent form, so it felt even more trustworthy! Of course, I’ll only know for sure after experiencing it myself lol Ha!! I finally feel like I’ve taken one burden off my chest~ I cried so much over the past 18 months.. I’m so happy. I hope this happiness stays the same even after the splint comes offㅠㅠ Seriously, pleaseㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ I think there are still many people who met the wrong director and can’t sleep because they have worries like mine. Since I got information from this community, I also want to help as much as I can~ I suffered so much that if this goes well, I might even bow down in gratitude lolololololololololol But right now the tip of my nose and my columella hurt so so so much. Aaagh!!!!!!!!!!!!
