To keep it simple and easy to understand, I’ll write it in chronological order.
1. During the surgical consultation, the doctor was extremely thorough, like a university professor, for about 40 minutes, so I trusted him and scheduled the surgery date. I didn’t want silicone, so I said I wanted surgery without an implant, and I emphasized that I wanted it natural. I paid a 500,000 won deposit. 2. After the surgery, my nose had become a drooping arrow-shaped nose like Seo Kyung-seok’s, heavy and sagging, and instead of looking feminine, it became an uglier nose. 3. When I searched online, I found out that septal extension, a method used for upturned noses and short noses, had been used. 4. When I asked why he had done septal extension, I was told through the consultant some strange answer like, “The doctor knows the condition of your nose well,” and I went in at week 3 to have it removed. 5. My nose had felt light my whole life, but now there was heavy cartilage from the columella all the way to the base, so of course it felt heavy, breathing was difficult, the pressure was so severe that I couldn’t sleep looking up at the ceiling, and I was at the point of sleeping face down. So I went to the hospital wanting full removal, but they said, “You wanted everything removed?” and that they had only intended to remove the nasal tip cartilage, and if I wanted the septal extension and everything removed, I should come back after 6 months. lol What did I do wrong? I paid 5 million won and ended up with emotional distress and an unintentionally ugly nose. I lived through a horrible 6 months. Every time I looked at my nose, all I could think was, why on earth did he do this?? Seriously, why???
6. I hated the idea that if I got removal surgery, I would simply be throwing away money and leaving only with depression, so I debated whether to get a pretty revision surgery or get removal. In the end, after 6 months, even though everyone tried to stop me, I thought, let’s just trust him once more, and I had revision surgery with the same doctor for free. Because at least I felt he seemed a little sorry when he saw how upset I was.
Before the 2nd surgery, what I requested: Please remove the septal extension. Why on earth did you do septal extension? (To this question, the doctor answered, “Because you emphasized natural...” lol So for all clients, does asking for a natural result mean asking for septal extension?),
This time, then, instead of natural, please make it pretty and feminine. Please make the nasolabial angle line (the line between the nose and philtrum when viewed from the side) more than 90 degrees. Right now it is 70-80 degrees. It drooped even more. Please don’t put anything under my nose. Just like other people’s surgeries, please only put cartilage in the nasal tip so it lifts upward into a semi-mushroom shape. But not too high. (He said okay. But he said there had to be a support strut, so I said fine. For safety. To prevent collapse, I was okay with a support strut too. Anyway, I even showed photos and explained the nose I wanted.)
7. After the 2nd surgery: As you can see in the 5th photo, before surgery I didn’t have a prominent columella, but I never lived hearing that I had no columella. It just had a rounded line. Now it is a straight line, as if the columella has completely disappeared lol. It is a nose that actually looks even wider and flatter. I did not upload side-view photos. The angle simply improved compared with after the 1st surgery, but the nasolabial angle still looks stuffy. He said a semi-mushroom line is pretty on women, so why does he keep setting my nasal angle around 80 degrees lol and giving me a masculine nose... Why won’t he do it as I requested... So I asked the doctor.
8. (Immediately after the 2nd surgery, tape was attached to the columella, so I couldn’t see it properly, and compared with the 1st surgery, the arrow nose seemed improved, so I liked it and thought I could live with this.) But the nose still looked droopy, so I told the doctor, “Overall, thankfully, I think it went well. But why does it still look droopy, like there is cartilage underneath?” He said, “That’s because cartilage was put in...” and when I said “What!?!” and asked in shock, he changed his words to, “Oh, that... it’s because the position of the cartilage was changed.”
9. But now that the tape has been removed from the columella and I’ve been living with it, the nose still feels firmly fixed as if the septal extension was not released, I can feel cartilage in the nasal tip, and to put it simply, it still feels like septal extension is still there, only the angle has changed. (A support strut doesn’t protrude; it just supports, right? lol It should just be uncomfortable! That’s all, right? It doesn’t feel like a nose with only a support strut inserted.) So I’m currently in the period of trying to reach an agreement with the hospital. The problem is that I don’t think they will handle it well.
The hospital’s position is, didn’t we do revision surgery for you, didn’t we take care of you instead of completely ignoring you? (Yes, you did take care of me. But from a customer’s perspective, even if you don’t take care of me, if you simply do the surgery beautifully and the way I want in one go, that would be more appreciated... Why did you put cartilage in however you wanted both times...)
Conclusion: (Before surgery nose: bulbous nose) (After 1st surgery: crooked nose, arrow nose, nasal tip became blunter, pinched nose, difficulty breathing due to osteotomy, unnecessary nasal valve reconstruction surgery (don’t get it unless you’re someone whose nasal roof has collapsed and can’t breathe)) (After 2nd surgery: columella disappeared, so the nose looks flatter and uglier; because cartilage is still placed under the nose, my pre-surgery nose had a more open-looking nasolabial angle; breathing is difficult because the nostrils narrowed due to aftereffects of osteotomy; depression and suicidal thoughts from having surgery done wrong twice)
From the start, I received a surgery I did not want, and even after the 2nd surgery, although he said he would release the septal extension, he said cartilage was still in there and then suddenly changed his words, saying he had changed the angle. When I asked again in the end, he said it had definitely been released. Then why did he change his words in the first place?.. Everyone, I hope you make sure to find a director who carefully looks at the photos and shape you request before surgery. He kept saying okay, okay, I’ll do that, I understand, so I thought he would do it that way. But it was strange that he just glanced over the photos and only said, “You’re good at Photoshop” lol.
Oh, and the hospital before/after photo is not me. I attached this photo because the after photo looks like my nose before surgery, and the before photo looks like my nose after surgery lololol. I’m so wronged and dumbfounded that they basically operated on my nose in the opposite direction like that, so I uploaded it to make it easy to understand. lol
Please avoid rhinoplasty if possible. Don’t live your whole life with a hard feeling from having cartilage put in for no reason, and with a nose that feels pressure even from the thin piece of fabric of a mask. Just live comfortably lol. And be sure to ask whether you can or cannot make a pig nose. Since it wasn’t silicone and was implant-free, I thought it would be possible lol, but because they did extension... it’s not possible... I thought this wasn’t important, but it’s so uncomfortable and it was important to me. And please find a director who will just do the surgery exactly as requested. And... the most important thing... If you have seen even one post about side effects from the doctor you’re going to have surgery with, or even one post saying they are not kind... cancel the surgery. Even if the deposit is 1 million won, cancel it. I foolishly gave in because the doctor persuaded me and said he would do well, and I regret it.
