Hello, I brought a failed-surgery review haha I think it would be good for people with a small nose and thin skin to read! I’m on my phone, so there may be typos, and please understand if I rambleㅠ
My natural nose had a hump, but unusually, it wasn’t on the top; the bone on the side was protruding. At the time, I only wanted to have that part shaved down. To others, it may have looked like a low and unattractive nose, but I liked my nose because it was round and soft-lookingㅠㅠ
May 2017 I just had it done at the clinic where I had my eyes done in high school, but the director there was so stubborn that I couldn’t say anything.. The patient’s needs weren’t considered at all. Thinking about it now, I don’t understand why I did it when the doctor was like thatㅋㅋㅋㅋ Anyway, the director said that if only the bone was shaved, it would look low, and since my skin was thin, silicone would show through, so Gore-Tex was inserted, and for the nasal tip, the cartilage was tied and a support strut was placed. (I forgot the name of the implant used for the support strutㅠㅠ anyway, it was something bad)
At first, I liked it. Since my nose was definitely higher, my facial proportions looked better, and I looked prettierㅋㅋㅋ But because it was too high, the nasal tip gradually couldn’t hold up and looked like it was dropping, so I had the Gore-Tex removed and the nasal tip repositioned. (November 2017) After removing it, the side of the hump was under-shaved, and the nasal dorsum was also uneven, ha.. I just gave up and lived like that again.
Then, after a few more months, the nasal tip support strut started showing through. So the upper part of the support strut was cut off a little. (Around October 2018)
After a few more months again, now my alar cartilage started showing throughㅠㅠ I thought my skin had probably become thinner because of the implant, and I also hated the hard feeling in my nose, so I said I wanted everything removed. I asked them to shave down the remaining hump a bit, so they did, and during surgery they said my alar cartilage was too pointy, so they cut the tip a little. (June 2019)
My current condition is that one side of the hump was shaved too much and is deeply sunken, one side was under-shaved, the unevenness on the upper part has not improved, and the nasal dorsum, whether because of scar tissue or something else, is somehow higher than the nasal tip, making the tip look droopy. There is no flesh on the nasal tip, so it feels pointy, and the columellar scar is deeply indented.
And later I found out that about one segment’s worth of Gore-Tex was still left between my eyebrows;; I was dumbfounded.. I found out because my skin is thin, so it showed through whiteㅋㅋ
Right now, I’m looking for places that can remove the remaining Gore-Tex, address the indentation on the nasal dorsum, and reinforce the skin of the nasal tip, as well as places that can improve the shape without using implantsㅠㅠ
Please look at the photos and give me your opinions on what method might improve it!!
Thank you for reading this long post haha
