6-7 years ago, I watched Let Me In and went to Director Hwang to get facial contouring. (Not Banobagi, another hospital) The result: the right cheekbone stayed as it originally was and wasn’t even fixed. The left side had too straight of a lateral cheekbone. For the square jaw line, they cut only a little, way too safely. The chin became longer than my original chin length. After general anesthesia, I woke up 9 hours after surgery lol I think I woke up around 10 p.m. I went with my dad, and he was shocked for hours beside me, thinking something serious had happened lol
I didn’t know the surgery had failed and lived confidently with the feeling that I had become prettier from facial contouring. Then from 2 years after surgery, I kept hearing that my face was long and my face was big.
I looked at photos other people took of me, and my cheekbones were asymmetrical...
So I watched Let Me In again and watched all of Director Oh Changhyun’s episodes. The reason was that it seemed like he refined difficult orthognathic surgery cases into clean lines.
I went for a consultation. When I went in, he didn’t just look at my face; from the moment I entered, he looked at my overall appearance. He said my body was slim but my face was big.
I was hurt. But it was something I had been hearing for years ㅠ
First of all, I liked his background, and while talking with him, I could feel that he had perfectionist tendencies. More than anything, he told me to go safer than what I wanted, so I had the surgery.
It has been exactly 1 year now, and all the sensation in my face has returned. I can open my mouth well, and the symmetry on both sides is good. The bone fixation also went well. When my previous surgery had gone wrong, my cheekbone hurt when I opened my mouth, but now it doesn’t hurt.
My husband tried hard to stop me, telling me not to touch my face. Now he says I did well and that I look younger than before.
