I had two criteria for choosing a hospital! 1. Whether they reflect the patient's opinions well I think everyone has different aesthetic standards and would want surgery according to that. I believe the meaning of cosmetic surgery itself is not whether it looks okay to others, but whether one's own complex is improved in a way that is satisfactory to oneself. Therefore, adjustment that fits that is necessary, and it has nothing to do with a face that looks harmonious from the doctor's point of view. After I had silicone inserted because of the unspoken pressure(?) from the doctor at the first hospital (if you do not put it in, the nose will look crooked and I cannot take responsibility; it will become severely bumpy and you will come back again, etc.), I was stressed for a long time. So I went to consultations at nearly 20 hospitals, and after feeling that this hospital truly listened to and reflected my opinions, I decided on this hospital. First, when I told them the shape I wanted, they made the detailed design as close to that as possible and explained in detail the surgical method, including the overall feeling, for example the point that the nose looked long compared with my overall facial proportions.
2. Whether they explain side effects It is obvious that cosmetic surgery, being surgery, carries risks. However, I think most people experience becoming unable to think rationally from the moment they decide on cosmetic surgery until they actually proceed with it. That means they think only about the good result of becoming prettier after surgery and relatively consider the risks less. Among the about 20 hospitals I visited this time, nearly 10 hospitals, when asked about side effects, answered "If you think about things like that, you cannot have surgery" or became annoyed. Even though there is an obligation to inform patients about side effects before surgery before they even ask, I felt they were reluctant to give a proper explanation, so I removed them from my list regardless of price. The reason I trusted Director Yoon was that, not about rhinoplasty in general, but about the surgery I would undergo, he told me all the possible side effects before I asked and explained them so that I could understand at the patient's level. Listening to him explain in detail both the surgical direction and the design aspects of the nose, I felt during the conversation that he was a highly skilled director.
The two criteria presented above were essential criteria, and I will also tell you about the additional parts I considered important! I cannot disclose hospital names unavoidably, but please note that I am writing by comparing with other hospitals! 1. The director's stamina If you have a consultation immediately after the director has performed surgery, I think you can gauge what time you should schedule surgery if you have surgery at that hospital. In other words, whether the doctor gives a rough consultation because they are too tired, gets irritated, and so on. When deciding on surgery, the director's skill is needless to say important, but I think something equally important is the director's stamina. Because I had to change the surgical direction, I consulted with the director twice and prepared materials, asking various questions for over 30 minutes. Both times, from beginning to end, the director listened to my story and answered by reflecting it. I think it mattered a lot that, during that process, he did not look physically tired at all. 2. The consultant manager Maybe because mine was a revision surgery, I worried a lot, but Manager Park Hyun-ji thought through the surgical direction with me one by one, really like a friend! Thanks to the manager's responsible attitude, I think I was able to find peace of mind(?)! The director performs the surgery, but everything except the surgery, such as aftercare, is handled by the manager, so I think it is important to check this part carefully when deciding on a hospital.
