I’m leaving a review for Miho Plastic Surgery! I had the procedure with Director Yoon Seok-ho, and although it has only been 14 days so the final shape is not complete yet, I can do all daily activities!
I removed the silicone, filled the step-off with ear cartilage, and lifted the nasal tip slightly to match. Because the silicone started from the glabella, my nose looked long and out of proportion with my face! After removing the silicone, there is no see-through effect, and the nose itself doesn’t look long, so I’m very satisfied!!! Also, because of the silicone removal, the parts where the left-right symmetry was slightly off were refined a bit, so now the symmetry is completely well balanced! haha
I had two criteria for choosing a hospital! 1. Whether they reflect the patient’s opinions well I think everyone has different aesthetic standards and wants surgery accordingly. I think the meaning of cosmetic surgery itself is not whether it looks okay to others, but whether one’s own complex is improved in a way that feels satisfying to oneself. Therefore, adjustment according to that is needed, and it has nothing to do with a face that looks harmonious from the doctor’s point of view. Because I had been stressed for a long time after getting silicone due to the silent pressure(?) from the doctor at the first hospital (if you don’t put it in, your nose will look crooked and I can’t take responsibility; it will become severely bumpy and you’ll come back again, etc.), I went to consultations at nearly 20 hospitals and decided on this hospital after feeling that they really listened to and reflected my opinions. First, when I told them the shape I wanted, they designed the details as much as possible to fit that, and they explained in detail the surgical methods for the overall impression, for example, the fact that my nose looked long compared with my overall facial proportions.
2. Whether they explain side effects It is obvious that cosmetic surgery, being surgery, carries risks. However, I think most people experience becoming unable to think rationally from the moment they decide on cosmetic surgery until they go through with it. In other words, they only think about the good outcome of becoming prettier after surgery and consider the risks relatively less. Among the about 20 hospitals I visited this time, nearly 10 hospitals either answered “If you think about things like that, you can’t have surgery” or got irritated when I asked about side effects. Even though matters regarding side effects before surgery should be disclosed before being asked, I felt they were reluctant to give proper explanations, so I removed them from my list regardless of price. The reason I trusted Director Yoon was that, not about rhinoplasty in general, but about the surgery I would undergo, he told me all the possible side effects before I even asked and explained them so I could understand from a patient’s perspective. Listening to him explain both the surgical direction and the design aspects of the nose in detail, I felt during the conversation that he was a highly skilled director.
The two criteria presented above were essential conditions, and I’ll also mention the additional parts I considered important! Please note that, although I cannot reveal the names of other hospitals, I’m writing this in a way that compares with other hospitals! 1. The director’s stamina If you have a consultation immediately after the director has performed surgery, I think you can gauge what time you should have surgery if you were to have it at that hospital. In other words, if the doctor is too tired, they may give a cursory consultation or become irritated, and so on. When deciding on surgery, the director’s skill is of course important, but I think the director’s stamina is equally important. Because I had to change the surgical direction, I had two consultations with the director, prepared materials, and asked various questions for over 30 minutes, and both times, from start to finish, the director listened to my story carefully and gave answers reflecting it. I think the fact that he did not look physically tired at all during that process had a big impact. 2. The consultant Maybe because mine was a revision surgery, I was very worried, but Consultant Park Hyun-ji went through the surgical direction with me one by one, really like a friend! Thanks to the consultant’s responsible attitude, I think I was able to find some peace of mind(?)! The surgery is performed by the director, but everything other than the surgery, including postoperative care, is handled by the consultant, so I think it is important to check this part carefully when deciding on a hospital.
