I had only the tip of my nose extended with septal cartilage at another hospital, then had removal surgery because of cartilage visibility and a foreign-body sensation. At the original hospital, they scared me a lot, saying that if it was removed my nose would shrink and turn into a monster... They treated me like a strange person for wanting it out I looked into a hospital specializing in removal surgery, and when I heard it could be done closed, I had a consultation and decided on surgery right away.
The doctor is usually a bit blunt, but I felt like he was trying to be kind? I’m also a shy person, so I was extremely nervous during the consultation, but I didn’t feel uncomfortable. Rather, I got the impression that he was confident in his field and highly competent. He had a lot of surgical cases and showed many actual photos, so as the consultation went on I became more convinced that I should have it done there. The surgery really went very well too. The removal was a complete success, and right after the procedure they showed me the cartilage that had been taken out... It turned out the method was different from what the original hospital said. They said they were just going to extend it, but they had ground up the remaining cartilage and placed it on the tip of the nose.. So it took a bit more time to remove the cartilage fragments... but they said the removal was still clean and done well.
Next month it’ll be one year since the removal, and it just feels like my own nose. I didn’t really feel any contraction period? Either way... it healed well, and after the stitches were removed I went about things comfortably. I’m completely satisfied in every way. I don’t plan to touch my nose again Thank you, doctor...
