Autologous dermis and silicone: first-stage removal surgery

Review of my first-stage surgery at Bombam Plastic Surgery. I finally completed the long-awaited first-stage surgery at Bombam. On the day of surgery I was extremely nervous and trembling, and honestly scared. After going through several nose surgeries, simply getting onto the operating table had become a major fear for me. Perhaps sensing how I felt, the coordinator held my hand tightly, and that warm touch eased my tension a little. It may have been a small gesture, but it was a great comfort to me. Thanks to the director’s fast and skilled surgery, it ended much earlier than I expected. I had been very worried about pain, but fortunately the surgery proceeded without much pain, unlike what I had imagined, and I was very grateful. Most of all, what affected me most about this first-stage surgery was finally removing the silicone that had been pressing on my nose. The original silicone was 4 mm high, but considering the space where the implant had not adhered properly and had been floating, I feel I had effectively been living with something about 6.5 mm high pressing on my nose. The implant showed through my thin skin, and I even felt that my nose was being compressed, which made every day extremely difficult. After removing the silicone, my nose and skin felt much more comfortable, as if something that had been weighing them down had finally been lifted. I realized anew how much discomfort and tightness I had endured. In fact, for the past six months I had barely gone outside without a hat or mask. Facing someone felt burdensome, and I lacked the confidence even to show my face to others. A normal life of going out and meeting people felt very far away. After surgery, I felt so empty thinking that I had avoided precious time and kept my distance from people because of one nose. I can’t say how long I had waited for this day. Once the silicone was removed, the emotions I had held back came rushing in all at once, and I cried. More than the joy of simply finishing a surgery, I think the relief of finally being able to slowly regain myself was greater. I still have second-stage dermal surgery ahead, but simply completing the silicone removal I feared most without incident has great meaning for me. I know my nose is in a difficult condition because of multiple surgeries, so I had no choice but to be more careful, and I was that much more worried. I sincerely thank the director for understanding my feelings and taking such meticulous care of me. I also want to express my deep thanks to the coordinator, who treated me warmly from the consultation onward and held my hand tightly when I was nervous before surgery. This is not the end; the second-stage surgery still remains, but I want to leave the difficult times behind and gradually regain a comfortable, natural version of myself. I hope that, after all the emotional hardship, I can look in the mirror with a smile from now on. Thank you so much to the director and everyone at Bombam. Please take good care of me during the second-stage surgery as well.
