I went in for a consultation for my first double eyelid surgery. I wanted a natural line, so that was what I discussed. The consultation was really good. Since it was my first surgery, they recommended a non-incisional method that could be reversed if I didn't like the result. They did say incision is used more often, but still recommended non-incisional. They said the inner corner canthoplasty could be done or not done, but if I do it, I should only bring it down just a little. They explained that after the buried suture method, if I stop opening my eyes with my forehead and the habit is corrected, the skin will sag downward a lot and the line may drop. In that case, they said I should have revision surgery with an incision. I wanted a natural look and an in-line, and they said it would be possible for the double eyelid to start from the inner corner, so the doctor said that would also be less of a burden for him. No other place had recommended fat removal, but here they said that if I also did ptosis correction, the tissue would be pulled upward and the upper eyelid area could protrude forward a bit, so they recommended fat removal. It didn't feel like they were pushing too hard, but in the end it became a full-package recommendation of buried suture + ptosis correction + fat removal + Mongolian fold correction.
