All year long I went in and out of this cafe and that cafe, digging up information, going to consultations, setting a surgery date, and finally, surgery! Honestly, I thought I wouldn’t come into cafes after surgery, but maybe I’m addicted or something.. I keep coming in and out all the time ㅋㅋ I also got a lot of help from here, had my removal surgery successfully, and I’m leaving a removal review to help others!
Including this removal, this was my third surgery, and I only went around to exactly two places for consultations. For my previous surgery, I thought I’d be careful and went to a ton of consultations, but it ultimately failed, so I guess going to a lot of consultations wasn’t meaningful..ㅋㅋㅋ So I got a lot of information from this community, and since ㄱㅇㅅ had many bad reviews, I just crossed it off right away. I had repeat consultations twice each at ㅅㅅㅇ and ㅍㄹㅁ, set a surgery date, and had the surgery (removal after 11 months). I had previously had autologous costal cartilage + silicone + functional surgery (nasal valve, rhinitis, deviated septum) at an ENT clinic. After functional surgery, my breathing problems got worse, my rhinitis became worse, and dissatisfaction with the shape was the biggest reason I wanted removal. Honestly, even if there were functional problems, if I had liked the shape, I probably would have just lived with it because my 7 million won would have felt too wasted. But they turned my originally short and round nose into a witch nose/arrow nose, so my image changed too much and the shape was so unattractive, so I spent the whole year timing the surgery, gathering information, going to consultations, and had the surgery.
The consultation content was the same at both places. Since my nose had been short before, they said it would be better to leave the support strut, and since the shape was important to me too, we decided to leave the support strut (leaving only the minimum). The consultation was to remove the silicone and readjust the height and angle of the autologous costal cartilage in the nasal tip to shape the nasal tip.
Both consultations were very good, but Dr. Seo looked at my surgery records and said they would only know after opening it, but it seemed like a lot had been manipulated. Separation, dissection,, he said they were words he really disliked ...part of the septum was removed too.. He said he had a feeling it would be a total mess in various ways. He wrote down each of my questions by hand and answered them, and explained the surgical method in so much detail. So I felt that whatever condition the inside of my nose was in, if it was Dr. Seo, he would do his best and take responsibility for it. Dr. Kwak said it wasn’t a difficult surgery, that he couldn’t make out what the handwriting in the surgery record said, and while looking at my pre-op photos, he said he didn’t know why they had manipulated something that could have been done easily in such a difficult way. He drew pictures and explained in detail, saying removal wasn’t a difficult surgery, so I didn’t have to worry. But I related more to what Dr. Seo had said earlier, that it seemed like a total mess. This is where I had a mental breakdown. Was it actually nothing, and Dr. Seo was just making it sound difficult.... Or was it really a total mess, and Dr. Kwak just wasn’t taking it seriously.... No, no, what if they open it and it’s a disaster... I should just think of the worst-case scenario. That will make me feel more at ease, I thought, and brainwashed myself ㅋㅋㅋㅋ The cost was 1 million won more expensive too, but if I kept feeling drawn here, there must be something to it! The fact that the date I wanted for surgery overlapped with an available date like this can’t be a coincidence either!! So I worked hard to fit the pieces together? This is fate, this is a sign telling me to do it here, I said, and set the date ㅋㅋㅋ
On the surgery day, my surgery was at 1:30, so I was waiting on time, but the surgery before mine ran long, so I had to wait quite a while. The person who had surgery before me came out crying, saying it hurt .....sob sob... From then on, I did get nervous, but I wasn’t that scared. I’m originally the type who isn’t afraid of things like surgery at all, so my mindset was, well, if it goes wrong, what’s the worst, I die? The person before me seemed to have come with their mother and father. Since they had to wake up from anesthesia, they kept telling them to keep talking to them ㅋㅋㅋ Inside, I thought, ah, I came alone, who’s going to wake me up from anesthesia haha ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ screw it, let’s go, and then I went into the operating room ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Since I drink well, what if anesthesia doesn’t work well on me? This isn’t going to be one of those awake things, right? Are there people who don’t wake up from anesthesia? This will be my last surgery, right? As expected, I can’t get used to operating rooms. With that nonsense, anesthesia whoosh ----- I think surgery started around 3, but because my bleeding didn’t stop easily, the surgery took quite a long time ㅠ A surgery that could have ended in two or three hours had no contact for 5 hours, so my phone was going crazy ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Starting with my mom, then my dad, aunt, and friends tooㅋㅋㅋㅋ They said they thought something had gone wrong with the surgery ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
When I came out of the hospital, it was 8.. I believe they close at 7, but the director and nurses did the surgery past closing time, and they explained things and took care of me without showing any displeasure at all, so I was really, really grateful. When I visited the next day for disinfection, the director personally disinfected everything and took care of me. It feels like a hospital that truly cares for patients sincerely. When they removed the collected blood in my nose, it did sting a little, but they made it hurt so, so much less than when I had blood removed at the previous hospital, so I was grateful. The director told me I’m very dramatic about pain, but if I can bear it, everyone here can bear it too ㅋㅋㅋ As for the shape, I’ll only know once the swelling goes down, but I’m satisfied that I’m back to my old short nose! The cost probably differs by person, but mine was in the mid-4 million won range, and after seeing many reviews, I don’t think there were many people more expensive than me, sob.
They say the sense of loss after removal is huge, but for me, rather than a sense of loss, I was happy to see my old face again. It’s only been 5 days, and until yesterday I was very swollen, but starting today it’s going down. I agree that the nasal tip looks like a cherry tomato.... I’m just hoping time passes quickly! For those who are about to have removal! Online research is important, but in-person consultations are more important! If you go once and think, “I don’t really know, I don’t feel it, I’m not sure,” go for a second consultation. For me too, when I went twice, they explained things more deeply and in detail, so I gained confidence and was able to decide!
I don’t think you need to worry too much! It’s less of a big deal than I thought. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt at all! I was really intimidated because of the patient who cried before me, but it really doesn’t hurt at all ㅋㅋㅋ Maybe I’m built for surgery~~~ I hope this clumsy review helps!
