Hello. I never thought I would be writing something like this, but 10 years ago I went along with a friend and somehow ended up getting nose surgery... and that was the start of the trouble.
I had surgery without even knowing what L-shaped silicone was, and sometimes my nose would feel hot and throbbing. Then 7 years later, one day it swelled up like a bulbous nose.
I went to a hospital near Gangnam Station. Maybe they were trying to match my opinion that I wanted the nasal tip and bridge to look more defined... but because I had signs of inflammation, they said silicone could not be used in my nose and suggested autologous costal cartilage. Thinking, “This is my last surgery,” I had the operation 2 years ago.
But!!!!!!!!! Fine, I could accept that it was hard. But from some point, the tip of my nose started turning red? I thought, “Oh, it must be because it’s winter^^.” Then the red area would look white on some days. It would turn red again with pain, then look white again, repeatedly, but the hospital kept saying it was okay, so I thought, “Well, I guess it’s okay!”
Then after about 6 months... the tip of my nose started poking out, and I could feel something, whether it was cartilage or an implant.
When I went to the hospital saying it hurt, they kept saying it was okay, it was okay... unbelievable. A nurse I had never seen before looked at me and was startled. . Ah... that made me think she wasn’t treating me like I was strange, but that something really was wrong with my nose, so I kept going back.
I directly asked them to do revision surgery. They said nothing, and that day I waited 2 hours to see that director. I had even made an appointment. I thought I would finally get a consultation, but he gave off the vibe that he had to go into surgery, and instead of his office, we talked in another room with the consultant, one nurse, me, and that director, 4 people total, in that tiny room, with the door open. Even there, I said, “I like the shape. I’m not here to complain, so please tell me the truth.” I asked whether revision surgery was really necessary. There was no answer. He just told me to schedule a surgery date and left?
In the end, I had surgery again. I lowered the height. Around 4 months after the second revision, every time I smiled the tip of my nose would sting, so I went in. They said I was sensitive and that it would improve, so I thought maybe that was true... it hadn’t been 6 months yet, so I should wait. Then a month passed, and the area that had been showing through is turning red like before the second revision and looks like it is about to protrude. So I went back and asked them to remove it, but the director sent me away, saying it was not at that stage yet...
An acquaintance had said that if I was that stressed, wouldn’t it be better to just take it out... But I kept insisting on making it pretty, and if the time comes later when I have to remove it, I’ll be older, and I think there will be more tissue damage. So I’m looking into hospitals for removal.
