I had always felt self-conscious about having a long face + protruding mouth, so I planned double-jaw surgery and got double-jaw surgery + genioplasty (chin advancement)! My bite was aligned, so I proceeded with surgery only, without orthodontic treatment.
In the photos, the top one is before surgery, the second photo is one week after surgery, and the third photo is when 10 days had passed after surgery.
Right after surgery, my nose was blocked and my throat was swollen, so breathing was extremely difficult. Seriously, to the point that I vowed I would not do it if I could go back,,,,,,,
But after a week passed, it became bearable, and thankfully time also seems to be passing little by little!
After a week, I thought, maybe it wasn't that big of a deal(?)... lol (People are so fickle.. lol)
These days, I think I'm spending each day enjoying watching the swelling go down in the mirror. It's only been a little over 10 days, so there is still a lot of swelling left, but I can definitely feel that my face has gotten shorter..!
Before surgery, when I heard the plan from the director, I was told the length was expected to be reduced by about 6 mm,
but maybe because the double jaw rotated clockwise and moved backward, visually it looks more than 1.5 cm shorter... It's fascinating... If I had only done the upward movement of the upper and lower jaw that another hospital recommended, it probably wouldn't have become this short...ㅠㅠ (I feel like I really chose the right hospital..)
For those who have had double-jaw surgery, when did all the major swelling go down??
I hope the swelling goes down a lot more soon!!
