As someone who suffered so much from sausage-like swelling, my eyes now are pure happiness. Because I understand better than anyone how stressful it is to have a thick line, I’m writing this in hopes that it can help even a little for those looking into eye revision surgery. Before surgery, I was living with a puffy line and a line that was too deep, so anyone could tell I looked like someone whose surgery had gone wrong...ㅠ I’m also attaching a photo with my eyes opened gently for reference. Even when I opened them fully, the line was thick, so at a glance I looked like someone who had obvious surgery, someone whose surgery had failed. Since it was revision surgery and sausage-like swelling, I worried a lot when choosing a clinic. After narrowing it down to 2 final places, I mainly looked for reviews and before-and-after photos of eyes similar to mine before deciding. (The doctor’s experience and surgical method were a given.)
And now it has been over 6 months, so I’ll show you the photos I took recently. They say the final swelling goes down by 6 months, and it really was true. In my case, the swelling was worst until day 10, started settling from around two weeks, and a lot of the swelling went down from the one-month mark.
Incisional revision surgery is difficult, so I’m sure many of you are going through a hard time emotionally, but don’t give up. There are many criteria when looking into clinics, like experience and surgical methods, but if you go to consultations, you’ll find a clinic where you feel, “This is the doctor!”
