Eye Surgery Reviews@eye-review

I escaped from clam-like eyes with lateral canthoplasty lol

Before<before surgery>After<after surgery>When I said I was getting lateral canthoplasty, people around me opposed it really strongly. Starting with, why would you go as far as surgery when you don’t even need it, You’ll 100% regret it if you get surgery. Think again. I heard so many things like that ㅠㅠ The front of my eyes is opened quite a lot, but the outer corners were a bit less open, so they looked slightly like clam-like eyes, and that was really stressful for me in my own wayㅠㅠ Also, my outer eye corners were slightly upturned.. I looked into lateral canthoplasty to open the outer corners and lower the eye tails too!!

At first, I mostly got information from Naver cafes while looking up lateral canthoplasty, but everyone only said this place is good, and they didn’t really give proper information..... So after asking around, I found out about this community.

Maybe because it’s a surgery with many side effects, most opinions were negative, and I heard that it wouldn’t open up as dramatically as I thought, so I hesitated for quite a while, wondering if that was really true.

But then whenever I saw pretty review photos of lateral canthoplasty, my mind kept going back and forth.. Since I kept wavering, I felt like I would end up getting lateral canthoplasty someday anyway, so I made a big decision in my own way and decided to have the surgery lol I did all the online research and in-person consultations, and since Taㅋ Plastic Surgery was said to be good at lateral canthoplasty, I had a consultation and then went through with the surgery!!

The stuffy-looking eyes were definitely resolved, and the horizontal length became longer, so the clam-like-eye feeling disappeared, and I’m satisfied.

My boyfriend and family, who had tried to stop me, also reacted by saying the surgery turned out well, so I was happy haha

Oh, on days 2-3 after surgery, I developed conjunctival edema. Because I’ve worn contact lenses for a long time, I already have severe dry eye..ㅠㅠ The director had fully explained conjunctival edema to me before surgery, so I did know about it, but actually experiencing it still made me anxiousㅠ So right after the surgery, I tried as much as possible not to strain my eyes, kept my eyes tightly closed, and only listened to the TV by soundㅠ lol I also used artificial tears often!! Since it is surgery after all, I think it’s something you have to accept to some extentㅠㅠ

There’s a lot of talk about it reattaching, but so far it hasn’t reattached, and I don’t feel like it will! They did say that because the surgery was done with periosteal fixation, I don’t need to worry about reattachment, but I guess I’ll only know accurately after more time passes..?

Of course, this is an extremely personal review, so

before getting lateral canthoplasty, I strongly recommend checking everything carefully before surgery!!ㅠㅠ

I also got a lot of help from this community, so I’m leaving a review, and I hope it helps even a little ㅠ
