I had always been self-conscious because my long, wide square jaw made my lower face look heavy. I was scared to undergo three-part facial contouring, including the cheekbones and chin… Honestly, I wondered whether one-part square-jaw contouring alone could really make my lower face look lighter, or whether I’d just waste my money. Then an influencer I followed, who had always had some fullness in her lower face, suddenly had a naturally slimmer jawline… She never mentioned surgery on her feed, so after hesitating, I politely asked her by Instagram DM,,, lol. Surprisingly, she casually confirmed that she had jaw surgery and told me she went to Director Jeong Seong-mo lol (I hope good things come to her; seriously…). Since it was a one-doctor clinic, getting an appointment was difficult, but the consultation was the most comfortable. I went in thinking only about one-part square-jaw surgery, so I worried they might push other procedures, but they listened to my opinion and focused only on the line I wanted! I decided because the no-pressure atmosphere made me comfortable. I didn’t want an overly artificial, sharp jaw, so we decided to leave a slight angle beneath the ears, reduce the thickness of the jawbone with cortical osteotomy, and fill a slight hollow in the cheek area with fat grafting! The nurses kept checking on me during my one-day admission, which was reassuring. There wasn’t much pain, but the tight swelling was the most annoying part lol. I’m one month out now. After the first week, the major swelling suddenly went down, and everyone around me is asking whether I lost weight and why my face has gotten so small… The angle beneath my ears remains natural, but from the front the broadness has disappeared, so these days I can comfortably take photos even with the default camera. If you’re worried about a square jaw, I really think you should choose somewhere that can create a good line without making you look unnaturally sharp!
