Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

One-month review of cheekbone upward movement and chin advancement at [Clinic A]

I had facial-contouring surgery at [Clinic A], including upward movement of the cheekbones and chin advancement, and it has been about one month since surgery. My features and overall impression were originally somewhat Western, but I was concerned that my midface was flat and my face lacked dimension. The nasolabial folds and nose may have contributed, but I especially disliked how my cheekbones and cheeks bulged out when I smiled. Before receiving dermatological treatments, I wanted to refine my overall facial shape more fundamentally, so I decided on surgery. My main goal was improving facial dimension and contours rather than simply making my face smaller. The surgeon explained everything very thoroughly during the consultation and took meticulous care of me before surgery, which gave me confidence. I also liked feeling how passionate the surgeon was about the procedure...!! The jawline I saw immediately after surgery, before the swelling really started, was definitely beautiful..! Then I swelled up like crazy. Since it has only been a month, the overall contours are not yet clearly visible, but the lines seem to be gradually taking shape. In my opinion..? My side profile was already fairly okay, so I think I will only be able to accurately judge the front-view changes after more swelling goes down. I know that at one month only the major swelling has naturally gone down and there is still plenty of residual swelling, so I am not impatient! Above all, the line I saw immediately after surgery was so beautiful, so I am looking forward to it haha. Recovery was not easy. The first three days were so painful that I thought I would die, but strangely, once exactly three days had passed, the pain clearly decreased. A lot of swelling remains even at one month, especially swelling and discomfort inside the mouth. I have only just started being able to open my mouth a little more comfortably. I think it will take about three months, after the intraoral swelling has sufficiently subsided, to judge the result to some extent. I am also fairly satisfied with the postoperative care. I could receive swelling-reduction laser treatment almost every day, and they take good care of me during recovery. My one disappointment was the advance guidance about recovery. It would have been even better if they had explained more systematically what pain or discomfort could occur for how many days after surgery, when swelling would start improving, what treatment would be given on each postoperative day, and how aftercare such as swelling laser treatment would proceed..! The first three days were especially difficult, and if I had known beforehand, I could have recovered with a little more peace of mind. It is still too early to assess the final result after only one month, but so far I do not regret the surgery. Compared with when I was severely swollen at first, I seem to be becoming more natural and prettier, so I am looking forward to future changes. Since my goal was to enhance dimension rather than make my face smaller, I am most curious how my front-view line will settle once the swelling has sufficiently gone down. I am still recovering, but I liked how I looked immediately after surgery, and I am gradually improving even now, so I am excited for the final result. I want the swelling to go down quickly so I can see my completed facial shape! Haha. The surgery also took a long time, but I think they worked very meticulously, so I was happy. Hmm... it may not show clearly in photos, but another clinic had simply removed a lot from my square jaw, so it felt slightly uneven. There is still swelling, but that seems to have improved a lot too.. Anyway!!!! I will post more reviews later, but so far I feel grateful and satisfied with both the coordinator and the surgeon compared with places that just leave you alone after surgery and operate carelessly. This got long, but I’ll post again when the swelling goes down... Ask me anything if you’re curious!
