Everyone, I finally had my rhinoplasty yesterday..
I had donated costal cartilage for the nasal tip, silicone for the bridge, osteotomy, and a bit of bulbous nose correction.. (They basically shaved everything down) They said they might use ear cartilage too if there wasn’t enough donated costal cartilage, but I guess there was enough after all! As soon as I opened my eyes, I touched my ears first lol And since I had functional nasal surgery done together, I also had surgery for a deviated septum and inferior turbinate hypertrophy..
But it hurts so much, I feel like I’m going crazy.. The nasal line itself doesn’t hurt, but both sides hurt so much. I think it’s probably pain from the rhinitis surgery or the osteotomy..
All 4 of my friends said it didn’t hurt at all, seriously ̑̈
They say there usually isn’t much swelling on day 1, but I think I’m going to swell a lot tomorrow. Somehow my eyelids already feel a bit heavy, and when I look along the inner side of the splint, bruising is already coming up bluish. And I had almost no bleeding at all, but after I got home my throat hurt so much that I’ve been drinking cold water and warm water alternately for 4 hours straight. Maybe because of that, suddenly warm runny nose? started dripping down, so I checked and now clear blood is leaking out steadily..
For the line, overall it doesn’t seem excessive and looks like a natural line, and my friends did say it looks like it went well. The nose I wanted was slightly straight-to-curved like a beoseon line, but with a little more contour! For now, because of the swelling, it’s just, well, okay, but to me, from the front, it looks way too upturned̑̈ They say you can only know about this upturned nose after the swelling goes down! Since it’s only the first day, I think I need to see how it looks on day 3 and day 7..
Still, how does day 1 look..?
On day 2, I’m so swollen I really can’t even take photos. They told me to come in on day 4 to remove the nasal packing, and before then I don’t have any hospital visit scheduled. Is that okay?
But tears keep streaming down from my right eye, and I don’t know why Why is this happening?
