<The top image is the nose before surgery and the bottom image is 10 days after surgery><This is a photo taken today~ Compared with day 10, it has come down a little and because of swelling it looks a bit more blunt~>After touring 9 hospitals total, I chose surgery at Apgujeong ㅇㄷ Plastic Surgery after considering the surgical method, materials, price, aftercare, and before-and-after photos. I had a bulbous nose with a slight hump. I used ear cartilage and septal cartilage, and I did not use an implant!! I’ll write about the process and how I felt~
Surgery day After changing into patient clothes, I washed my face, asked the director the last questions I had, and received an IV for about 20 minutes in the recovery room. Then I went to the operating room, had my hair arranged, blood pressure and pulse monitors attached, the surgical drape set up, and the antibiotic reaction test done (painful), all in a rush. The director came in and turned my head to the side to take out the ear cartilage. The anesthesia injection hurt It felt like getting piercings. Right after the anesthesia injection, they started taking out the cartilage. I thought I’d be scared because of the sound, but it was just fascinating. Other than a slight pulling sensation when they sutured at the end, there was no pain. With my head straight, the anesthesiologist came in and said, “I’m going to anesthetize you~,” I suddenly smelled medicine, and when I woke up, I was in the recovery room. After finishing the IV, I changed clothes and went home by subway. Other than not being able to breathe through my nose and having to breathe through my mouth, there weren’t any other uncomfortable points. I couldn’t smell well, but I could still taste food to some extent! At night I woke up every hour to drink water...
Day 1 My nose and ear throbbed, but it didn’t feel exactly painful. It felt like a pulse beating in my nose. I went to the hospital and got two antibiotic shots, one in the buttock muscle and one through a vein, plus one disinfection treatment, and they cleaned inside my nose with a suction device. I’m not sure about the swelling. I was still waking up almost every hour at night... At night I kept suffering because I couldn’t breathe, wondering why I even did this and regretting it, but during the day I felt okay again, then the cycle repeated.
Day 2 The day to remove the packing. In the morning, my family washed my hair for me, so it felt a little refreshing. At the hospital, I got the same two antibiotic injections again. They removed the cotton from my ear and then the cotton from my nose, and tears came out before I knew it.. It didn’t hurt, it just felt relieving. They cleaned inside my nose with the suction device. I was so happy to be able to breathe through my nose... I only woke up once because it was hot, and then slept through the night!!! There is swelling around the eyes and upper lip.
Day 3 I could go about my daily life normally, but the oil on my face was driving me crazy. It rained all day, so I stayed home watching variety shows and laughed a lot, which made me a little anxious. There is swelling around the upper lip and cheeks.
Day 4 I went to the hospital for antibiotic disinfection and suction.
Day 5 Because I had to go to work, I removed the splint early.. After taking off the splint, they disinfected and suctioned. It looked like a upturned nose and seemed short. They said it would look better once the swelling went down.
Day 8 Disinfection and suction; they removed the silicone sheet that had been supporting the inside of the septum.
Day 10 They removed the ear stitches and the non-absorbable stitches. It felt like pulling off a firmly stuck booger. There was a family gathering that day, and because my nose looked more refined and higher, they said my face looked smaller, so I laughed a lot..
Day 11 Because of a cold, I was sneezing a lot and my nose was running continuously..
Day 12 The mucous membrane on the left septum inside my nose was swollen, and I was so anxious. I searched a lot and was terribly worried.
Day 13 I called the hospital and went in for a checkup. There was blood inside.. and a lot of runny nose, so recovery was slow.. it was swollen.. They used a syringe to remove a little, then disinfected and suctioned. I was scolded for not taking care of it properly They said because of the blood, I had to come in every day for a week.. I had to go to work, so it was awkward, but they said there was no choice and otherwise side effects could happen. I was so sad that I went home and cried.
Day 15 I went to the hospital and got disinfection, suction, and new antibiotics. They said it was better than on day 13. They said it would probably come out to about 97% of a 100% surgical result...
On day 10, as you can see in the photos, it looked high and refined, so I loved the side profile, but the front looked like an upturned nose and a rat-like feeling, so it felt awkward. Today it has come down a lot on the sides, which is a bit disappointing, and the front is also a little swollen so it feels blunt again, but it feels like my nose has naturally become smaller. Once all the swelling left, I think I’d be truly satisfied!! They really do aftercare so thoroughly here that it’s enough to make going to the hospital feel annoying.. But because they take care of it so carefully, I’m not worried about side effects at all!! I’ll have to keep watching it, but I don’t regret the surgery and I like it!! I’ll leave another review after about a month, once my nose becomes even prettier!!
