Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

A super long double-jaw surgery D+365!! Review

Before before before after after after after Double-jaw surgery, 2 types of facial contouring (square jaw, chin) D+365!!

Surgery satisfaction 10000000000000000%

One year after surgery felt so far away, but as I worked hard at daily life, it passed quickly haha

Before surgery, I had such severe malocclusion that my jaw protruded about as much as my nose, and it had been severe since I was young, so it was my biggest complex.. Double-jaw surgery was on my life bucket list, and since it was a really major surgery, I did a lot of online research and in-person visits, comparing carefully and getting consultations. Other places said I absolutely had to do double-jaw surgery and cheekbones together, but when I consulted with the director at Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, unlike other hospitals, they told me I didn’t really need to do my cheekbones. Because I wanted to achieve normal occlusion with the least surgery possible, the director’s firm words made me trust them.

Those who, like me, worry about malocclusion will relate, but ever since I was young, I got so many nicknames and teasing related to my jaw, and I hated when someone saw me from the side or when my side profile was photographed. Without realizing it, I would cover my face with my hand and keep pulling my jaw back, trying to make it look like normal occlusion,, haha

But now I take side-profile photos very confidently, and when someone looks at my side profile, I don’t watch their reaction or care; I just stay confident‼️ Some people may think it’s trivial and no big deal, but for someone like me with a very strong protruding lower jaw, it’s a huge thing.! Even my boyfriend sometimes just keeps looking at my side profile. At times like that, I feel really really really so so so proud. haha After one year, it is so natural that people seeing me for the first time think I was born with a small face and normal occlusion, and sometimes there are even people who envy my face shape. (This was something I could never have imagined before,,) Friends and family who have known me for a long time say they can’t remember my old face, and even friends who opposed the surgery are now satisfied with me, saying the surgery went so well and it turned out really great lololol

Compared with others, my recovery was a little on the fast side, but if I give a few tips to those who just had surgery or will have it soon: you need to move a lot from the time you can move!! After discharge, I walked 15,000 steps every day. The facial swelling goes down quickly, and after surgery your body can feel a bit lethargic, but that also gets better quickly. And when the doctor tells you, ‘Do mouth-opening exercises,’ you have to do them diligently! If you don’t do this diligently, they say the jaw stiffens and later you can’t open your mouth Now, one year later, I live my daily life the same as before surgery. Exercise is not uncomfortable, and I can open my mouth just like before surgery, enough to fit 4 fingers. I can make big wraps and eat them well, tear into chicken or ribs well, and eat squid well too

If you ask what I think about double-jaw surgery, I’m satisfied enough to say it became a turning point in my life. Because of malocclusion, I couldn’t use my front teeth and one molar, so chewing was uncomfortable, but now I eat using my teeth evenly. Just having a major complex improved raises confidence and self-esteem. If I could turn back time and go to the past, even if the cost became higher, I’d be willing to do it again 500000% (I live every day feeling grateful to the doctor <3)

For those worried about a protruding lower jaw or planning surgery, I hope you receive very thorough consultations and meet a reliable doctor at a good hospital.
