Ever since I was young, my square jaw was so severe that I had been really stressed about it since my school days, so this time I made a really big decision and decided to have cosmetic surgery.
My home is on the outskirts of Gyeonggi-do, so at first I looked around a lot nearby, but there wasn't anywhere I trusted, and since I would be going back and forth by car anyway, I just booked consultations in Gangnam and went for surgery..
First of all, I really liked the consultation. At other places, they kept recommending that I do my eyes or nose together too, which annoyed me. But here, they really listened exactly to my concerns, listened to how I wanted things done, and gave me a detailed consultation, so I liked that. Honestly, rather than a dramatic effect, I wanted it to look natural without it being obvious I had surgery, and even when I looked up reviews here, there wasn't really that flashy “I got plastic surgery” kind of feeling. So I liked the consultation, and the recovery program was good too, so I set the date right away on the day of the consultation.
I think the surgery probably took about 1 hour, but on the day I was so out of it that I honestly couldn't really keep track of the time. But I remember it ended pretty quickly.. I was discharged the same day. From the day of surgery to week 1, I couldn't get used to my very swollen face, and eating was a task too, but except for the days I went to the hospital, I think I just lazed around at home, rested well, and focused only on the swelling going down.
From week 2, the swelling went down a lot. Maybe because it wasn't an intraoral incision, the swelling went down quickly, which was so fascinating, and I wondered if all behind-the-ear incisions were like this. Anyway, I stayed comfortable. Still, eating was still uncomfortable, but later I gave up and just ate one spoonful of porridge, rested, ate one spoonful, rested, like that lol
In weeks 3 and 4, the swelling really went down a lot, and even now it is slightly firmer than before surgery, but I think if someone who didn't know saw me, they probably wouldn't even know it was swelling. During the consultation they said recovery would be fast, but I thought since it was still surgery, I would suffer for over a month, but recovery really was fast.....
Today is almost the one-month mark, and both the swelling and my facial line have become very soft. During the consultation, it wasn't that I hadn't considered full mandibular contouring, but after actually having surgery, I think I made the right choice choosing a natural result. From the front and from the side, the line has become really smooth, so I keep thinking I should have done it earlier instead of stressing about it.
I quit my job and had surgery secretly from my parents with the money I had saved, so I worried, what if it goes wrong.. what would I say at home? Anyway, I think it's fortunate. I was originally going to upload photos too, but I left them out because I was worried someone might recognize me. Later, I'll edit the post again and upload photos with my eyes, nose, and mouth covered.
There are so many cases of side effects from facial contouring, so there were times when I worried for no reason that mine might go badly too, but for those who still decide on cosmetic surgery despite being prepared for that, I'm posting this hoping my experience review will be helpful.. If you'll regret it whether you do it or don't do it anyway, I think trying it could be good too..
