Since I had the surgery in December 2022, it has already been the start of my third year since getting surgery at the clinic. I went to a lot of facial contouring consultations, and I was thinking of stopping and choosing from the clinics I had already visited. But with two places left, including this clinic, I decided to go to all the places I had booked. I liked that they pinpointed things so precisely and gave me a full overall summary all at once. I think it was good that I went to this clinic toward the end.
As it is getting close to 3 years since I had the three-part contouring, I think it is inevitable that, as time goes by, worries about sagging suddenly come to mind from time to time. I do not have any visible sagging right now, but I am also doing the basic maintenance that everyone does, kind of like insurance. All the sensation in the nerves came back, and before it returned, it felt strange, like dental anesthesia. Then with a tingling? itchy feeling, the nerve sensation came back. It was also a little hard to do mouth-opening exercises because of the cheekbones It was a bit scary too. And when I woke up from surgery, at first I was groggy and not fully conscious, so I did not even know whether it hurt, but as I gradually came to, there was pain and a suffocating discomfort. I looked in the mirror and wondered what this even was. I also drooled a bit.. lol
I think the most important thing during consultation is knowing what kind of face shape you want and understanding your own face. A smaller face does not automatically mean a pretty face shape. You can think of it as partially remodeling your own face. I absolutely did not want a doll-like line. My overall vibe and eyes have a cute feel, so if I had made it sharp like a doll-like line, I felt like all my original charm would disappear. My friends and I tried editing my face shape in selfies in different ways, and the natural face shape suited me best, so I had consultations with that photo. I think it is right to make sure the director understands the exact line you want before proceeding with surgery.
What I gained after facial contouring surgery: Eyes that look bigger because the empty space was reduced, a more feminine and prettier face, confidence, and a face shape that suits baseball caps.
What I lost after facial contouring surgery: My bone that was cut out during surgery, the pins that show up when taking dental X-rays because I did not have them removed, and worries about sagging that come to mind from time to time.
